Temperature soars to 49C, hot and windy spell to continue

Doha and other parts of the country experienced a scorching Monday when the temperature reached a high of 49C in some places.
Similar conditions are again expected Tuesday and the Qatar Met department has also issued a warning for strong winds in most places during the day.
As temperatures continue to rise, the Met department has issued safety tips for the public through its social media platforms.
People should try to avoid outdoor activities and exposure to direct sunlight, the advisory states, adding that they should wear lightweight, light-coloured clothing to reflect sunlight.
Further, the advisory stresses the need to drink plenty of fluids and not to leave children unattended in a vehicle.
Those working outdoors should take rest breaks in the shade, it adds.
Tuesday’s detailed forecast says it will be “very hot” during the day and slight to blowing dust is expected in some places. The wind speed will be 15-25 knots, going up to 30 knots in certain areas.
The maximum temperature Monday was 49C, as compared to 48C on the previous two days.
Places that recorded a high of 49C Monday were Doha (airport area), the Qatar University area, Abu Hamour and Mesaieed, weather charts showed. These were followed by Wakrah and Turayna with 48C, Sheehaniyah, Al Khor, Batna and Karana with 47C, Jumayliyah with 46C, Ghuwairiyah with 45C and the Hamad International Airport area with 43C.
On Tuesday, a maximum of 49C is expected in Wakrah and Mesaieed, followed by 47C in Doha and 45C in Al Khor.
Strong winds are also likely in offshore areas Tuesday along with high seas and poor visibility, the report says.
Dusty conditions and some clouds are likely to prevail there, with winds blowing at speeds of 25-35 knots, reaching a high of 40 knots in some offshore areas. The sea level, meanwhile, will rise to 14ft.
The Met department had earlier said northwesterly winds were expected to affect the country until the weekend, advising people to be cautious and avoid sea activities in view of the anticipated conditions.

ويتراوح مدى الرؤية الأفقية بين 4 و8 كيلومترات، تنخفض إلى 3 كيلومترات أو أقل على بعض المناطق أحيانا.
ويتراوح ارتفاع الموج على الساحل بين قدمين و 4 أقدام ، ويرتفع إلى 5 أقدام على بعض المناطق.. وفي البحر يتراوح بين 5 و 8 أقدام، ويرتفع إلى 12 قدما على بعض المناطق.
أدنى درجة حرارة متوقعة في الدوحة 36 درجة مئوية.

الوكرة: أعلى مد في الثالثة و47 دقيقة ليلا.. وأدنى جزر في الواحدة و 20 دقيقة ليلا.
مسيعيد: أعلى مد في الرابعة و 45 دقيقة فجرا.. وأدنى جزر في الثانية و 50 دقيقة ليلا.
الخور: أعلى مد في الثانية و 57 دقيقة ليلا.. وأدنى جزر في الحادية عشرة و 47 دقيقة مساء.
الرويس: أعلى مد في الخامسة و58 دقيقة صباحا.. وأدنى جزر في الثانية عشرة و20 دقيقة مساء.
دخان: أعلى مد في العاشرة و 11 دقيقة مساء.. وأدنى جزر في الرابعة و 34 دقيقة فجرا.
تشرق الشمس غدا بحول الله تعالى عند الساعة الرابعة و43 دقيقة.
