Milaha and Elite Paper Recycling sign pact
«ملاحة» تتعاون مع «النخبة لإعادة تدوير الورق»
Milaha, Qatar’s leading maritime and logistics company, and Elite Paper Recycling are partnering to promote environment sustainability and recycling across all their programmes and activities, it was announced yesterday.
Milaha executive vice president (support services) Saleh Abdullah al-Haroon and Elite Paper Recycling chairman Abdallah al-Suwaidi signed the partnership agreement.
Under the agreement, Milaha will continue to recycle its waste paper with the support of Elite Paper Recycling, which will deliver recycling cages, collect recyclable materials, and recycle waste paper in an eco-friendly manner.
The two companies will also jointly develop and organise initiatives to raise awareness on protecting the environment through sustainable practices.
Al-Haroon said, “We are pleased to sign this agreement, which falls in line with our corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy of integrating the principles of sustainability and environmental practices into our daily local and business operations.”
He noted that Milaha remains committed to facilitating CSR activities and environmental awareness programmes in cooperation with both the public and private sectors.
Al-Suwaidi stated: “We are very happy to sign this partnership with Milaha. As an SME, we are keen to join efforts with Qatar’s national carriers to use their platforms and exchange their services. In line with Qatar National Vision 2030, Elite Paper Recycling has launched mega public awareness projects such as ‘The Eco Dome’ and the ‘Green Fleet’, as part of our overall communication strategy.
“We are committed to deploy recycling dumpsters at all Milaha premises as part of the public awareness on the environment and sustainability toward a better future for the community in Qatar.”
Milaha and Elite Paper Recycling will also engage in other future collaborations on various levels, launching green initiatives, and raising awareness of a recycling culture through different types of activities throughout the year, organising workshops, participating in expos, and many other ‘green community’ opportunities.
أنشأت «ملاحة» الشركة القطرية الرائدة في مجال الخدمات البحرية واللوجيستية، شراكة مع شركة النخبة لإعادة تدوير الورق، وذلك من أجل الترويج للاستدامة البيئية وإعادة التدوير في إطار برامجها وأنشطتها كافة.
ووقّع اتفاقية الشراكة السيد صالح عبدالله الهارون نائب الرئيس التنفيذي للخدمات المساندة في «ملاحة»، والسيد عبدالله السويدي رئيس مجلس إدارة شركة النخبة لإعادة تدوير الورق، وذلك يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 6 أغسطس.
بموجب الاتفاقية، ستتابع «ملاحة» تدوير الورق المستعمل لديها بدعم من شركة النخبة لإعادة تدوير الورق، التي ستوفر لها حاويات لإعادة التدوير، وتجمع المواد القابلة لإعادة التدوير، وتعيد تدوير الورق بأسلوب صديق للبيئة، وستقوم الشركتان كذلك بتطوير وتنظيم مبادرات للتوعية بأهمية حماية البيئة من خلال اتباع الممارسات المستدامة.
الاستدامة
وفي هذا الصدد، قال السيد الهارون: «يسرنا التوقيع على هذه الاتفاقية التي تتسق مع استراتيجية المسؤولية المجتمعية للشركات لدينا، وتنص على دمج مبادئ الاستدامة والممارسات البيئية المسؤولة، وجعلها في صلب عملياتنا المحلية اليومية».
وشدّد الهارون على أن «ملاحة» ملتزمة على الدوام بتعزيز أنشطة المسؤولية المجتمعية للشركات وبرامج التوعية البيئية بالتعاون مع القطاعين العام والخاص.

ومن جهته، علّق السيد السويدي قائلاً: «نحن في غاية السعادة لتوقيع اتفاقية الشراكة مع ملاحة اليوم، كواحدة من الشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة، يهمنا تضافر الجهود مع الشركات الرائدة في الدولة، واستخدام منصاتها وتبادل الخدمات معها، وقد أطلقت شركة النخبة لإعادة تدوير الورق عملاً برؤية «قطر الوطنية 2030»، مشروعات عملاقة للتوعية، على غرار الأسطول الأخضر والقبة الإيكولوجية، في إطار استراتيجية التواصل العام لدينا، ونحن ملتزمون بوضع حاويات لإعادة التدوير في أرجاء ملاحة كافة، وذلك من أجل التوعية العامة بالبيئة والاستدامة، وبناء مستقبل أفضل في قطر».
وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن «ملاحة» وشركة النخبة لإعادة تدوير الورق ستواصلان التعاون مستقبلاً على مستويات عدة، تتضمن إطلاق مبادرات خضراء وتعزيز التوعية بثقافة إعادة التدوير عبر أنشطة متنوعة على مدار العام، وتنظيم ورش العمل، والمشاركة في المعارض وغيرها.
