QNL exhibition sheds light on history of Holy Kaaba
مكتبة قطر الوطنية تنظم “معرض الكعبة المشرفة”
Qatar National Library is organising the “Holy Kaaba Exhibition” which started yesterday and will continue until October 1.
The distinctive exhibition, which opened at the Library, is a visual representation of the history of the cube-structured building at the centre of Islam’s most sacred mosque in the city of Makkah – and the most sacred site of Islam.
The exhibit includes more than 50 carefully curated items including photos, works of art, books and manuscripts, offering deeper insights into the history of the Holy Kaaba. Visitors can learn about the stages of its construction and its architectural features and adornment.
The items on display highlight the religious and spiritual significance of the Holy Kaaba and affirm the deep effect the site has had on visitors for many centuries.
Abeer Al Kuwari, Acting Director of Distinctive Collections at the Library, said: “The theme of faith is in focus at the Library this month as we begin to prepare for Ramadan, and we invite the public to come and visit the exhibition and interact with these valuable historical texts, manuscripts and rare items.”
“Through these events, the Library seeks to widen knowledge and understanding. We hope that, as visitors reflect on the historical roots of the Holy Kaaba, the experience will add a fresh dimension to their understanding of Islam as a religion. The exhibition also affirms the Library’s influence as an institution of reference for Islamic history and the Arab culture, both in the region and beyond.”

افتتح اليوم، بمكتبة قطر الوطنية معرض الكعبة المشرفة بمناسبة شهر رمضان الفضيل، ويستمر إلى الأول من أكتوبر المقبل.
يقدم المعرض ومضات من تاريخ الكعبة المشرفة، قبلة المسلمين ووجهة ملايين الحجاج والمعتمرين من كل بقاع الأرض، حيث يلقي الضوء على أكثر من 50 قطعة مختارة بعناية من مجموعة المكتبة التراثية، ما بين صور فوتوغرافية ولوحات مرسومة، وأعمال فنية، وكتب مطبوعة ومخطوطات فريدة تقدم للزائرين إضاءات تاريخية حول الكعبة المشرفة، ومراحل إنشائها وسماتها المعمارية وزينتها وكسوتها، كما تبرز مكانتها الروحية والدينية العظيمة على مرِّ القرون التي تجعلها مهوى أفئدة الزائرين الذين يأتون إليها من كل فجٍ عميق.
وقالت عبير الكواري، القائم بأعمال مدير شؤون المجموعات المميزة بالمكتبة، في تصريح، إن تنظيم المكتبة لهذا المعرض الفريد عن الكعبة المشرفة، يأتي تزامنًا مع قدوم شهر رمضان الفضيل وأوقاته المباركة، احتفاءً من المكتبة بالأجواء الإيمانية خلال هذا الشهر.
ودعت الكواري، كل أفراد المجتمع لزيارة المعرض والتفاعل مع المخطوطات الفريدة والكتب القديمة والمواد النادرة حول الكعبة.. منوهة إلى أنه من خلال هذه المعارض تسعى المكتبة إلى تشجيع أفراد المجتمع على التأمل في الجذور التاريخية للكعبة المشرفة، وتضيف للزائرين بُعدًا جديدًا إلى معارفهم ومنظورًا جديدًا يكشف عن أبرز القيم الروحية في الإسلام، وهي تلك التي تتعلق بوجهة العبادة. ويؤكد المعرض كذلك تأثير المكتبة كمصدر للمعلومات حول التاريخ الإسلامي والثقافة العربية سواءً في المنطقة أو على مستوى العالم.
يذكر أن شهر مايو، الذي يتزامن مع شهر رمضان، يُتيح لزوار المكتبة مجموعة واسعة من الفعاليات الأخرى التي تحتفل بقدوم الشهر، وتساهم في توفير أجواء روحية لرواد المكتبة خلال الشهر المبارك.
