Qatar’s trade balance reaches QR12.8bn surplus in March

Doha: The foreign merchandise trade balance of Qatar showed a surplus of QR12.8bn in March, a decrease of about QR0.5bn or 4.1 percent compared to March 2018, and decreased by nearly QR1bn or 7.4 percent compared to February 2019.

According to the preliminary figures released by the Planning and Statistics Authority, the total exports of goods (including exports of goods of domestic origin and re-exports) amounted to around QR22.3bn in March 2019, showing a decrease of 6.3 percent compared to March 2018, and an increase by 0.4 percent compared to February 2019.

On other hand, the imports of goods in March 2019 amounted to around QR 9.6 billion, showing a decrease of 9.0% over March 2018. However, on a month on month (M-o-M) basis the imports increase by 13 percent.

The year on year (March 2019 to March 2018) decrease in total exports was mainly due to lower exports of Petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons (LNG, condensates, propane, butane, etc.) reaching QR13.5bn approximately in March 2019. In March 2019, Japan was at the top of the countries of destination of Qatar’s exports with close to QR4.5bn, a share of 20.3 percent of total exports, followed by South Korea with almost QR3.2bn and a share of 14.2 percent, India with about QR2.6bn, a share of 11.8 percent.

During March 2019, the group of “Motor cars & other passenger vehicles” was at the top of the imported group of commodities, with QR0.4bn, showing a decrease of 33.2 percent compared to March 2018.
In the second place was “Parts Of Balloons; Parts Of Aircraft, Spacecraft” with QR0.3bn, showing an decreased by 9.5 percent, and in third place was “Turbojets, turbo propellers and other gas turbines; parts thereof” with QR0.3bn, a decrease of 38.1 percent.

In March 2019, United States of America was the leading country of origin of Qatar’s imports with about QR2.2bn, a share of 22.9 percent of the imports, followed by China with QR0.9bn almost, a
share of 9.8 percent, and Turkey with QR0.7bn, a share of 7.5 percent.

أوضحت بيانات جهاز التخطيط والإحصاء عن إحصاءات التجارة الخارجية لشهر مارس، أن قيمة إجمالي الصادرات القطرية (التي تشمل الصادرات ذات المنشأ المحلي وإعادة التصدير) بلغت 22.3 مليار ريال تقريباً بانخفاض سنوي (مقارنة بشهر مارس من العام الماضي) قدره 6.3%، وبارتفاع 0.4% قياساً بشهر فبراير هذا العام.

وانخفضت قيمة الواردات السلعية خلال مارس 2019، لتصل إلى نحو 9.6 مليار ريال بانخفاض نسبته 9% مقارنة بالشهر المماثل من العام الماضي، غير أنها سجلت ارتفاعاً بنحو 13% مقارنة بشهر فبراير من العام الحالي.

وتشير البيانات إلى انخفاض سنوي سجلته قيمة صادرات «غازات النفط والهيدروكربونات الغازية الأخرى» لتصل إلى نحو 13.5 مليار ريال وبنسبة 8.9%، فيما ارتفعت قيمة «زيوت نفط وزيوت مواد معدنية قارية خام» لتصل إلى ما يقارب 3.8 مليار ريال وبنسبة 0.7%، كما انخفضت قيمة صادرات «زيوت نفط وزيوت متحصل عليها من مواد معدنية قارية غير خام» لتصل إلى نحو 1.4 مليار ريال وبنسبة 11.6%.

الصادرات

واحتلت اليابان صدارة دول المقصد بالنسبة لصادرات دولة قطر خلال شهر مارس الماضي وبقيمة 4.5 مليار ريال تقريباً أي ما نسبته 20.3% من إجمالي قيمة الصادرات القطرية، تليها كوريا الجنوبية بقيمة 3.2 مليار ريال أي ما نسبته 14.2% من إجمالي قيمة تلك الصادرات، ثم الهند بقيمة 2.6 مليار ريال وبنسبة 11.8%.

وجاءت مجموعة «السيارات المصممة لنقل الأشخاص» على رأس قائمة الواردات السلعية للدولة بقيمة 0.4 مليار ريال وبانخفاض نسبته 33.2% مقارنة بمارس 2018، تلتها مجموعة «أجزاء الطائرات العادية والطائرات العمودية» بنحو 0.3 مليار ريال وبانخفاض نسبته 9.5%، ثم مجموعة «عنفات نفاثة وعنفات دافعة، وعنفات غازية أخرى وأجزاؤها» التي سجلت 0.3 مليار ريال وبانخفاض 38.1%.

واحتلت الولايات المتحدة الأميركية صدارة دول المنشأ بالنسبة لواردات قطر بقيمة 2.2 مليار ريال وبنسبة 22.9% من إجمالي قيمة الواردات السلعية، ثم الصين بقيمة 0.9 مليار ريال أي ما نسبته 9.8%، تليها تركيا بقيمة 0.7 مليار ريال أي ما نسبته 7.5%.
