Qatar National Library challenges youth in ‘Ramadan Word Search’ event

Doha: Qatar National Library presented a ‘Ramadan Word Search Challenge’ for young adults aged 12–18 recently, the first event in a series to be held throughout the month.

Participants were encouraged to test their knowledge on various aspects of Ramadan during the fast-paced word search. The event was held in the spirit of friendly competition and, in keeping with Islamic tradition, encouraged youth to socialize with each other.

During May, which has also seen the start of the holy month of Ramadan, the Library’s rich program of events, exhibitions and talks is focusing on the theme of faith.

Virgilio JR Medina, Information Services Librarian at the Library, said: “The Library encourages youth from our community to learn and be reminded of important aspects of Ramadan through a fun experience.

During the Holy Month, the Library also presents many other such opportunities for everyone to visit the Library and spend time with fellow visitors and engage in useful conversations.”

Young adults are encouraged to take part in the next ‘Ramadan Word Search Challenge’, which takes place at the Library on May 11, 16, 18, 23 and May 25.

بمناسبة حلول شهر رمضان المبارك، تنظم مكتبة قطر الوطنية سلسلة من الفعاليات اللغوية والاجتماعية طوال شهر رمضان لليافعين من 12 إلى 18 عاماً بعنوان «تحدي البحث عن الكلمات الرمضانية».

وتشجع هذه الفعاليات التي بدأت يوم الخميس الماضي، اليافعين المشاركين على التنافس عبر اختبار حصيلتهم المعرفية من خلال البحث عن الكلمات حول جوانب عديدة من شهر رمضان المبارك، كما تُهيئ لهم الأجواء المرحة الملائمة للتواصل الاجتماعي فيما بينهم.

وقال فيرجيليو جونيور مدينا اختصاصي معلومات بالمكتبة: «تشجع المكتبة الشباب واليافعين على التعلم والتعرف على جوانب مهمة من رمضان عبر أجواء تنافسية مرحة، وتقدم المكتبة طوال الشهر الفضيل مجموعة أخرى من الفرص المتنوعة للجميع، لتشجيع جميع الفئات على زيارة المكتبة».
