Ooredoo to provide infrastructure for new Barwa accommodation complex

Doha: Ooredoo confirmed it is to provide telecoms infrastructure and a range of state-of-the-art facilities for a new blue-collar accommodation complex being built by Qatar-based real estate giant Barwa Group.

The development, with a built-up area of 735,039 square metres, will include 3,170 units as well as retail shops and mosques. The development will stand on a total of 1,197,114 sqm of land.

The complex is designed to give more space and privacy to residents, with a designated yard to each building. The first phase of units will be available for rent starting June 1, 2019, and is expected to accommodate around 33,500 labourers.

As per the agreement, Barwa’s new complex will benefit from state-of-the-art facilities for its worker residents, thanks to an official agreement with Ooredoo. The infrastructure will include the first fibre network in such an accommodation complex in Qatar, an Ooredoo retail shop, Ooredoo network connectivity, an Ooredoo self-service machine and several other day-to-day services.

Both Barwa Group and Ooredoo cite the commendable contribution blue-collar workers are making to the growth of Qatar’s economy and to Qatar’s Vision 2030 as a key motivation behind the development of the complex and its facilities.

ويقع مشروع المدينة العمالية على طريق سلوى، وينفذ على أرض تبلغ مساحتها 1.179.114 متراً مربعاً. ويتضمن المشروع 3170 وحدة سكنية ومحلات تجارية ومساجد بمساحة بناء إجمالية تبلغ 735.039 متراً مربعاً. ويراعي تصميم المشروع الحفاظ على خصوصية سكان المدينة، إذ يتضمن فناءً خاصاً لكل بيت، مما يتيح لسكانه الاستمتاع بمكان في الهواء الطلق مع الحفاظ على خصوصيتهم. ومن المقرر البدء بتسليم الوحدات السكنية للمستأجرين للمرحلة الأولى في 1 يونيو 2019، التي ستستوعب 33.536 عاملاً.

وتشمل البنية التحتية التي ستوفرها «ooredoo» شبكة الألياف الضوئية المتطورة، مما يجعل هذه المدينة العمالية الأولى من نوعها التي تحصل على هذه الخدمة في قطر.

توفير الخدمات

وسيتم توفير خدمات «ooredoo» للمشروع الجديد الذي تنشئه مجموعة بروة، والذي يتسع لحوالي 101.440 عاملاً، بمقتضى الاتفاقية الرسمية التي تم توقيعها مع «ooredoo»، لتزويده بالبنية التحتية لخدمات الاتصالات المتطورة، مثل الألياف الضوئية، ومركز «ooredoo» للبيع، وكذلك تغطية شاملة من شبكة «ooredoo»، وأجهزة «ooredoo» للخدمة الذاتية، وغيرها من خدمات الشركة.
