Civil Defence distributing over 1,000 Iftar meals to drivers
الدفاع المدني يوزع أكثر من 1000 وجبة إفطار على السائقين
Doha: The General Directorate of Civil Defence is distributing more than 1,000 free Iftar meals and awareness booklets to drivers in a number of areas of the country.
First Lieutenant Abdul Hadi Ali Al Marri, Officer at Media and Preventive Education Section at the General Directorate of Civil Defence, said that the distribution of Iftar meals to drivers is a humanitarian and social initiative by the administration, in order to strengthen the culture of security and safety through the public.
“We began the campaign on Sunday and will continue until Thursday, and daily we are distributing 250 Iftar meals. Today, we will distribute Iftar meals In Dafna, Al Manaseer and on Thursday we will distribute it in Al Wakra. The distribution of Iftar is in collaboration with Medical Services Department at the Ministry of Interior,” he said.
The administration is organising many awareness events during the holy month of Ramadan to convey messages of awareness to the public, to raise their awareness about safety measures, as well as strengthening the bonds of human relations between the police and society, said Al Marri. About the awareness material being given along with Iftar, Al Marri they were distributing awareness booklets which were mainly about home fire prevention tips.
The General Directorate of Civil Defence has an annual plan for awareness campaigns at the state level, which instills in people a culture of safety and security. It also conducts inspection drives on projects before they are operated and before the electrical currents are connected to be sure that all the civil defence conditions shall be applied. The inspection drives are conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to ensure that the specific fire prevention and fire protection systems for the buildings under construction are met to the conditions.
In accordance with the standards and requirements of the Safety Systems Department of the Prevention Department, the quality and efficiency of the fire resistance and fire fighting equipment shall be determined by examining the specifications and standards and ensuring that they are subjected to tests.

قامت الإدارة العامة للدفاع المدني، أمس الأول، بتوزيع وجبات إفطار الصائم وكتيبات ومطويات توعوية على قائدي المركبات في عدد من مناطق الدولة قبل موعد الإفطار.
وأوضح الملازم أول عبدالهادي علي المري ضابط قسم الإعلام والتثقيف الوقائي بالإدارة العامة للدفاع المدني، أن الإدارة تقوم بتوزيع وجبات إفطار الصائم ومطويات وكتيبات توعوية، وذلك قبيل أذان المغرب على مرتادي الطرق الداخلية في مناطق الخور، والوكرة، وكورنيش الدوحة، وعند إشارة المناصير، وإشارة البريد، وذلك لمدة خمسة أيام.
وقال إن الإدارة اعتادت على تنظيم العديد من الفعاليات التوعوية خلال شهر رمضان المبارك، لتوصيل رسائل التوعية للجمهور، بما ينعكس على سلامتهم ويرفع درجة الوعي لديهم، فضلاً عن تدعيم أواصر العلاقات الإنسانية بين الشرطة والمجتمع.
وأضاف أن توزيع وجبات إفطار على السائقين تعد مبادرة إنسانية واجتماعية من قبل الإدارة، من أجل تعزيز ثقافة الأمن والسلامة من خلال ما نقدمه للجمهور من كتيبات حول البيت الآمن ومطويات حول الصحة والصيام، ما يساعد على تكثيف الجرعة التوعوية التي تتعلق بإجراءات الأمن والسلامة من خلال التواصل المباشر مع الجمهور، داعياً كل أفراد المجتمع إلى العمل من أجل تحقيق شهر رمضان أكثر سلامة داخل المنزل.
