Qatar Petroleum launches new ‘Code of Conduct’
«قطر للبترول» تُطلق مدونتها الجديدة لقواعد السلوك
HE the Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad Sherida al-Kaabi, also the President and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, launched the new QP Code of Conduct.
The launch was part of the ‘Ethical Leadership Conference’, called ‘Hawiyyatna’ (Arabic for ‘Our Identity’), which was held at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
The Code of Conduct is a comprehensive document that will define Qatar Petroleum’s shared commitment, the way it conducts business, and the ethical values with which it wants to be identified.
The document, entitled “Shaping Who We Are”, will act as a new supportive element in Qatar Petroleum’s drive to realise its vision of becoming one of the best national oil and gas companies in the world.
At the event al-Kaabi highlighted key Qatar Petroleum achievements since its transformation began with the success of its 2014 reorganisation and optimisation programme.
He also provided an overview of Qatar Petroleum’s ambitious business strategy, which has driven its international expansion in various parts across the globe.
Al-Kaabi said, “The launch of our Code of Conduct will ensure connecting all our success stories together by a matrix of ethical practices that would ensure Qatar Petroleum being measured up against the best in our business.”
“This important next step sets out the rules that guide our behaviour, the principles that establish our culture, and the beliefs that we share with the world and against which the world will judge our actions. It defines our shared commitment, the way we work together and with others, and the expectations we have of each and every one of our employees.”
In concluding his remarks, al-Kaabi said, “There is no doubt that having a business culture focused on ethical conduct is critical to QP’s success. Therefore, by adopting and launching this code, Qatar Petroleum is creating the foundations of a corporate culture of ethical behavior that will certainly define us as an organisation and sets our business principles. I believe that this will shape who we are by committing to the best practices in everything we do and everywhere we go.”
The new Qatar Petroleum Code of Conduct, which was developed according to international best practices, is an inclusive and principles-based document. It outlines expectations, and describes a set of consistent behaviors for Qatar Petroleum and all those who do business with it.
The Ethical Leadership Conference ‘Hawiyyatna’ was held with the participation of Qatar Petroleum’s executive leadership team and higher management as well as CEOs and senior representatives of QP’s subsidiaries and joint ventures.
The conference focused on commitment to ethical leadership, and how to create and commit to a culture built around best ethical practices.
It included both speaker engagements and interactive sessions covering key areas of the code; how to work together and with others, openness and transparency, doing the right thing, accountability, ethical decision making, and the importance of speaking up.
أطلق سعادة المهندس سعد بن شريده الكعبي وزير الدولة لشؤون الطاقة العضو المنتدب والرئيس التنفيذي لـ «قطر للبترول»، مدونة قواعد السلوك الجديدة لـ «قطر للبترول»، وذلك خلال مؤتمر القيادة الأخلاقية «هويتنا»؛ الذي انعقد في مركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات. وتعتبر مدونة قواعد السلوك وثيقة شاملة تُحدد التزام «قطر للبترول» في التعامل الأخلاقي، وفي الطريقة التي تدير بها أعمالها، والقيم الأخلاقية التي تريد أن يعرفها الجميع من خلالها. كما ستكون الوثيقة التي تحمل عنوان «تشكيل هويتنا» بمنزلة عنصر داعم جديد على طريق «قطر للبترول»، من أجل تحقيق رؤيتها لتصبح واحدة من أفضل شركات النفط والغاز الوطنية في العالم.
في كلمته خلال المؤتمر، استعرض سعادة المهندس سعد بن شريده الكعبي، إنجازات «قطر للبترول» التي تحققت منذ إتمام برنامج إعادة الهيكلة عام 2014، كما قدم نظرة شاملة لاستراتيجية «قطر للبترول» الطموحة التي قادت توسعها الدولي في مختلف أنحاء العالم.
وقال سعادة المهندس الكعبي: «إن إطلاق مدونة قواعد السلوك سيكون بمثابة النسيج الذي سيربط قصص نجاحنا من خلال منظومة من الممارسات الأخلاقية التي من شأنها أن تضمن وضع قطر للبترول في مصاف أفضل الشركات في صناعتنا».
قواعد
وأضاف سعادته: «إن هذه الخطوة المهمة ستحدد القواعد التي توجّه سلوكنا، والمبادئ التي تؤسس لثقافتنا، والممارسات التي نشاركها مع العالم التي سيقيّمنا العالم من خلالها، خاصة أنها تحدد التزامنا المشترك، وطريقة عملنا معاً ومع الآخرين، وما نتوقعه من جميع موظفينا».
وفي ختام كلمته، قال سعادة المهندس الكعبي: «إن السلوك الأخلاقي أمر بالغ الأهمية لنجاح قطر للبترول، ومن خلال اعتماد وإطلاق هذه المدونة تكون قطر للبترول قد وضعت أسس الثقافة المؤسسية للسلوك الأخلاقي الذي سيحدد من نكون كمؤسسة ويحدد مبادئ أعمالنا. وإنني على ثقة بأن ذلك سيساهم أيضاً في تحديد هويتنا، من خلال الالتزام بأفضل الممارسات في كل ما نقوم به، وفي أي مكان نوجد فيه».
الممارسات
وتعتبر مدونة قواعد سلوك «قطر للبترول» الجديدة، التي تم تطويرها وفقاً لأفضل الممارسات والمعايير الدولية، وثيقة شاملة ترتكز على مبادئ عالية، وتحدد التوقعات ومجموعة السلوكيات التي تعتمدها «قطر للبترول» مع كل المتعاملين
معها. وقد انعقد مؤتمر القيادة الأخلاقية «هويتنا» بمشاركة فريق القيادة التنفيذية في «قطر للبترول» وكبار المسؤولين فيها، إضافة إلى الرؤساء التنفيذيين وكبار المسؤولين في شركات «قطر للبترول» ومشاريعها
المشتركة.
وتركزت أعمال المؤتمر على الالتزام بمبادئ القيادة الأخلاقية، والالتزام بثقافة مبنية على أفضل الممارسات الأخلاقية، واشتمل المؤتمر على مشاركات من متحدثين في المجال وجلسات تفاعلية حول كيفية العمل معاً ومع الآخرين، والانفتاح والشفافية، والقيام بالشيء الصحيح، والمساءلة، واتخاذ القرارات الأخلاقية،
وأهمية الإبلاغ عن التجاوزات والتعامل معها.
