Amir honours winners of 12th Education Excellence Award

Doha: Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani patronised the 12th edition of the Education Excellence Award Ceremony held yesterday at the Doha Sheraton Hotel.
Later H H the Amir met with winners of the Education Excellence Award.
During the meeting, H H the Amir exchanged conversations with the winners on their educational achievements and projects and thanked their efforts and that of their families and teachers who supported them on this outstanding path.
H H the Amir also urged the winners to continue on the path of excellence, giving and self-reliance to serve their society and country.
For their part, the winners expressed great thanks and gratitude to H H the Amir for the honour and encouragement. The winners said being honoured and meeting H H the Amir is the greatest motivation for them to achieve more excellence and continue on the path of success to serve the country and contribute to its prosperity in all areas, especially as they consider H H the Amir their role model.
The ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs, Ministers, Heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the State, senior education officials and parents of the outstanding students and researchers.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Dr Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi affirmed that the State of Qatar’s sound strategic planning and vision and its implementations of development plans and programs in all fields and at all levels are the basis for accomplishing successes and achievements.
The Minister of Education and Higher Education said that the issuance of the general framework of the national educational curriculum of the State came as a clear reference to the educational system and sources of learning in the State of Qatar, and marked the beginning of a new phase of curricula characterized by distinction and consistency between theoretical frameworks and scientific application of knowledge.
He said that the curriculum has been advanced to develop students’ capabilities and their spirit of innovation and creativity, and to promote the spirit of citizenship among students and their adherence to the Islamic values and the principles and ethics of the Qatari society.
The Minister congratulated the winners of the Education Excellence Award, stressing that Qatar, under its wise leadership, spares no effort in caring for its students by providing them with academic opportunities, choices and advantages at home and abroad. He also congratulated all those who contributed to this excellence, including parents, schools and teachers.
On behalf of the honoured, award winner in the secondary level Hamad Ali Al Korbi, expressed delight at H H the Amir’s patronage of the ceremony and honouring of the winners of the Education Excellence Award, noting that this is a great day that will remain in the memory of all the winners who have worked hard for this moment to earn the honour to shake the hands of H H the Amir.
Winning the award was not easy at all, as the winners were given the opportunity to win this award, which is the most prestigious academic and scientific award in Qatar and at the same time represents a strong incentive for them to excel and contribute to the State of Qatar’s renaissance and progress.
A film about the march of excellence for the outstanding winners of the 2019 award in various categories and their future aspirations to serve their country was screened during the ceremony. H H the Amir then honoured the winners of the Education Excellence Award for the year 2019.
تفضّل حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، فشمل برعايته الكريمة حفل جائزة يوم التميز العلمي في دورته الثانية عشرة، الذي أُقيم بفندق شيراتون الدوحة صباح أمس، تحت شعار «بالتميز نبني الأجيال». حضر الحفل عدد من أصحاب السعادة الشيوخ والوزراء، وعدد من أصحاب السعادة رؤساء البعثات الدبلوماسية المعتمدين لدى الدولة، وكبار المسؤولين في مجال التعليم والتعليم العالي، وأولياء أمور الطلبة والباحثين المتميزين.
ألقى سعادة الدكتور محمد بن عبدالواحد الحمادي وزير التعليم والتعليم العالي، كلمة بهذه المناسبة، أكد خلالها أن التخطيط الاستراتيجي الجيد والرؤية الثاقبة التي سعت إليها دولة قطر وتابعت تنفيذ خططها وبرامجها التنموية في المجالات كافة وعلى جميع المستويات، هو الأساس في تحقيق النجاحات والإنجازات التي حققتها.
وأكد سعادة وزير التعليم والتعليم العالي أن إصدار الإطار العام للمنهج التعليمي الوطني للدولة جاء بمنزلة مرجعية واضحة للمنظومة التربوية ومصادر التعلّم في دولة قطر، وإيذاناً ببدء مرحلة جديدة من المناهج التي تتصف بالتمايز والاتساق بين الأطر النظرية والتطبيق العلمي للمعرفة، والتي طُوّرت بحيث تعمل على تنمية قدرات الطلبة وروح الابتكار والإبداع لديهم، كما تعمل على تعزيز روح المواطنة في نفوس الطلبة والتمسك بقيم الدين الإسلامي ومبادئ المجتمع القطري وأخلاقه.
وهنّأ سعادته في ختام كلمته، هذه الكوكبة المتميزة من أبناء قطر وبناتها. مؤكداً أن وطنهم قطر بقيادته الرشيدة لا يألو جهداً في رعاية أبنائه، من خلال توفير الفرص والخيارات والمزايا الأكاديمية في الداخل والخارج، كما هنّأ كل من ساهم في صناعة هذا التميز، بمن في ذلك أولياء أمورهم ومدارسهم ومعلموهم.
من جانبه، ألقى حمد علي الكربي -الحائز على جائزة التميز العلمي فئة المرحلة الثانوية- كلمة المتميزين، أعرب فيها عن سعادتهم برعاية وتشريف حضرة صاحب السمو هذا الحفل وتكريمهم في يوم التميز العلمي. لافتاً إلى أن يوم التميز العلمي هو يوم عظيم سيبقى في ذاكرة كل الفائزين بجائزة التميز العلمي، الذين اجتهدوا وسهروا الليالي من أجل هذه اللحظة؛ لحظة الصعود إلى هذه المنصة لمصافحة سموه، ليفخروا بالتكريم أمام العالم. منوهاً بأن الفوز في هذه الجائزة لم يكن سهلاً على الإطلاق، حيث وضع المتميزون الفوز نصب أعينهم وسط منافسة شريفة، ليصلوا إلى هذه الجائزة التي تُعدّ أرفع تكريم أكاديمي وعلمي يُمنح في دولة قطر، وتمثّل في الوقت نفسه حافزاً قوياً لهم على التفوق والمساهمة في نهضة قطر وتقدّمها.
وخلال الحفل، عُرض فيلم حول مسيرة التفوق للمتميزين الفائزين بجائزة سنة 2019 في مختلف فئات الجائزة، وطموحاتهم المستقبلية في خدمة بلدهم، وأهمية التميز والتنافس في بناء الحضارة الإنسانية بشكل عام، ودورهما في النهوض بالمجتمع والدولة بشكل خاص في مختلف المجالات.
