Katara hosts Al Ahli Sports Club exhibition
معرض يوثق تاريخ الكرة القطرية في “كتارا”
Celebrating the 69th anniversary of establishment of prominent Qatari Sports club Al Ahli, the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara opened an exhibition to commemorate the Club’s legends yesterday at Katara Building 19.
The opening ceremony was attended by several high ranking administrators of the club management and some of the team’s legendary players along with officials and dignitaries.
Ali Mohammed Al Ali, the exhibition manager and a former player at the Ahli Club said that the main aim of this exhibition is to document the history of sport and football in particular in Qatar besides commemorating the prominent Qatari legends in this field.
“This exhibition aims to present to the world that Qatar has a long history in soccer and sports; especially that Qatar is hosting the World Cup 2022, many people have started to ask about our achievements in soccer and this exhibition tells a lot”, he added.
Ali expressed pride and honour to have played for the Ahli team established in 1950. “Qatar has a long history in soccer since the British Mandate in Qatar in the 1940’s and had always hosted international matches where world legends played such as the Brazilian all-time soccer legend Pele.”
The exhibition displays biographies of several prominent Qatari figures in the field of soccer and their achievements, in addition to some old photographs of international sport events that occurred in Qatar. It also features audio and visual content for some legends and a collection of some of the players’ belongings that form a mini-museum.
افتتحت المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي “كتارا” اليوم، معرض “لاعبو كرة القدم القدامى.. النادي الأهلي”، في مبنى 19 قاعة 2، بحضور عدد من كبار الشخصيات واللاعبين والمهتمين.
ويهدف المعرض، الذي يستمر حتى نهاية الشهر الجاري، إلى توثيق تاريخ الكرة القطرية، وجاء تزامنا مع مرور 69 عاما على تأسيس النادي الأهلي والذي يعتبر عميد الأندية القطرية، كما أنه يأتي في إطار الاستعدادات لاستضافة كأس العالم 2022.
وقال السيد علي محمد العلي رئيس لجنة قدامى اللاعبين القطريين إن أهمية المعرض تأتي للتعريف بالرياضة القطرية خصوصا أنه وبعد أن حصلت دولة قطر على استضافة كأس العالم 2022، وتم تسليط الأضواء نحو قطر لمعرفة رصيدها الرياضي، فكان لابد من إبراز تاريخ كرة القدم في البلاد منذ أربعينات القرن الماضي، وأبطالنا في كرة القدم بما لهم من بصمة واضحة على المستوى الخليجي والعربي على غرار منصور المفتاح ويونس أحمد، وغيرهم كثير.
وأشار إلى أنه وفي فترة سابقة تم تنظيم نسخ مماثلة للمعرض في أندية الريان والسد وقطر بقصد عرض مقتنيات هؤلاء اللاعبين وتعريف الجمهور بإنجازاتهم وبطولاتهم.
ويضم المعرض عددا من الصور للاعبين في الستينات والسبعينات، بالإضافة إلى أفلام تسجيلية وبعض المقتنيات من كؤوس وميداليات وملابس اللاعبين علاوة على ما كتب عن النادي وأبطاله في الصحف.
ويوثق المعرض في جميع نسخه فترات متفرقة للنهضة الرياضية في قطر في فترة الستينات وما تلاها من فترات شهدت ازدهارا وتطورا في المجال الرياضي حتى وصلنا إلى ما نراه اليوم من إنجازات عالمية يشيد بها الجميع.
