Giant moon shines in the skies of Qatar tomorrow night
القمر العملاق يسطع في سماء قطر مساء غدا

أعلنت دار التقويم القطري أنه سيصل قمر شهر جمادى الآخرة إلى مرحلة البدر مساء يوم غد الثلاثاء، وذلك عند الساعة السادسة والدقيقة الثالثة والخمسين مساءً بتوقيت الدوحة المحلي.
وذكر د. بشير مرزوق (الخبير الفلكي بدار التقويم القطري) أن بدر جمادى الآخرة هذا العام سيكون مختلفاً تماماً عن البدر المعتاد، إذ سيظهر على هيئة ما يُعرف بالقمر العملاق، حيث إن البدر هذه المرة سوف يبدو أكبر حجماً من البدر المعتاد بنسبة 14 % تقريباً، وأكثر إضاءة بنسبة 30 %، وذلك بسبب اقترابه من الأرض، وسيكون القمر خلال تلك الظاهرة على مسافة قدرها 357 ألف كيلومتر تقريباً من مركز الأرض.
ويمكن لسكان دولة قطر الاستمتاع برؤية ومتابعة ظاهرة القمر العملاق الوحيد لهذا العام طوال الليل، وذلك من وقت شروق القمر مساء الثلاثاء، وحتى غروبه في صباح اليوم التالي، علماً بأن القمر سيشرق هذا اليوم على سماء دولة قطر عند الساعة الخامسة والدقيقة الثانية والعشرين مساء الثلاثاء، بينما سيغرب عند الساعة السادسة والدقيقة الحادية والأربعين من صباح اليوم التالي بتوقيت الدوحة المحلي.
