Restaurants in Katara and Aspire to donate today’s revenue to Syrians

DOHA: Revenues from restaurants at Katara and Aspire on Tuesday (January 15) will go to help Syrian refugees in the camps of Arsal, a Lebanese border town.

This was announced on Twitter by Katara Cultural Village General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti.

The restaurants participating in this charity cause are Burgeri, Chac’late, le Vesuvio, L’wzaar Seafood Market, Marsa Katara, Sukar Basha, Red Velvet, Sugar & Spice, Coffeeshop Company, Miogusto, Poffertjes, Ard Canaan, Chapati & Karak, Khan Farouk Tarab café and Kava.

Harsh winter conditions paralyzed life of Syrians as aid could not reach Lebanon’s eastern border town after they escaped the civil war in their country. The number of refugees is said to be around 60,000.

Meanwhile, under the supervision of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA), Qatar Charity (QC) has launched ‘Arsal Relief’ campaign to provide immediate assistance to Syrian refugees affected by snowstorms, frost and rain, targeting to raise QR20m, as a contribution to meet their basic needs by providing heating facilities, food and medicines.

This campaign was launched to urgently respond to the difficult humanitarian situation suffered by the Syrian refugees in the town of Arsal and other Lebanese areas, due to the Storm Norma, which hit Arsal last week.

The campaign also came amid expectations of similar storms from today.

في خطوة ليست بغريبة على قطر بمؤسساتها وبأهلها بادرت المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي ” كتارا ” اليوم بتخصيص ريع مطاعمها ومطاعم اسباير للاجئين السوريين في عرسال، وذلك تماشيا مع حملة ” أغيثوا عرسال ” التي اطلقتها عدد من جهات الدولة بما فيها الجهات الخيرية منذ عدة أيام.

وتعتبر دولة قطر من الدول السباقة في تقديم يد العون إلى المحتاجين في كافة انحاء العالم، وكانت لمؤسساتها مبادرات عدة تدعم اللاجئين السوريين في الاردن وفي لبنان، وتأتي هذه الحملة الإغاثية العاجلة لمساعدة اللاجئين السوريين على الحدود اللبنانية، حيث البرودة العالية خلال هذه الأيام التي تقل بها درجات الحرارة وتزداد البرودة يوما بعد الآخر.
