Doha: In 2023, Qatar’s tourism sector is experiencing a remarkable revival, contributing to a surge in hotel room supply. Over the past 18 months, the country has added more than 8,000 new hotel rooms, resulting in a total of 38,000 available rooms. Experts at Cushman & Wakefield, a global real estate services company, predict this number to exceed 40,000 by the end of this year.
The momentum continues as Qatar’s real estate market enters the second quarter of 2023. The upcoming months will witness notable additions to the hotel market, spanning various regions, including new hotels and resorts.
Qatar’s reputation as a premier tourist destination has been further solidified, thanks to its triumphant hosting of the Qatar World Cup and substantial investments in tourist infrastructure.
The data from the Planning and Statistics Authority underscores the upsurge in incoming tourists, with an impressive 206% annual growth rate, bringing over 1.7 million visitors to Qatar between January and May. Among these visitors, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries took the lead, contributing 685,000 arrivals.
Hotel occupancy rates for April and May have soared by 47% and 56%, respectively. As a result, an astounding 1.5 million tourists have graced Qatar’s shores within a mere four months, showcasing the escalating demand for tourism in the nation.

الدوحة: أدى انتعاش القطاع السياحي في دولة قطر خلال العام الجاري 2023 إلى رفع إجمالي المعروض من الغرف الفندقية في البلاد بأكثر من 8 آلاف غرفة فندقية خلال الأشهر الـ 18 الماضية.
ووصل العدد الإجمالي للغرف الفندقية المعروضة – بحسب تقرير لـ “تلفزيون قطر” إلى 38 ألف غرفة، مع توقع في شركة الخدمات العقارية العالمية الرائدة كوشمان أند ويكفيلد أن يتجاوز هذا الرقم 40 ألفا بحلول نهاية 2023.
ووفقاً لمراجعة سوق العقارات للربع الثاني من 2023 ستستكمل هذه الزيادة الأخيرة في عرض بعض الإضافات المهمة إلى السوق الفندقية في الأشهر المقبلة من فنادق ومنتجعات في مناطق عدة.
وتعززت مكانة دولة قطر على صدارة الوجهات السياحية بعد نجاحها الاستثنائي في مونديال قطر والاستثمار الكبير في البنية التحتية السياحية.
تشير إحصائيات جهاز التخطيط والإحصاءات إلى ارتفاع عدد السياح الوافدين، بما يتجاوز مليونا و700 ألف زائر إلى قطر بين يناير ومايو بنسبة 206% نمو سنوي، وتصدر زوار الأشقاء في دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي بـ 685 ألف زائر.
وجاءت معدلات إشغال الفنادق في أبريل ومايو بزيادة 47% و56%، وجاءت المحصلة بتوافد 1.5 مليون سائح في أربعة أشهر فقط ما يترجم واقع الطلب السياحي المتنامي في الدولة.
