First offshore living quarters to be fabricated in Qatar

DOHA: Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine (N-KOM) successfully held a steel cutting ceremony for the first offshore living quarters to be fabricated in Qatar, at the world-class Erhama bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard.

The project scope was awarded to N-KOM by Rosetti Marino, a leading Italian company providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services to the energy industry worldwide.

Rossetti Marino was awarded the EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning) contract for the fabrication of a brand-new offshore living quarters and refurbishment of an existing platform with modern facilities for a local offshore complex in the North Field.

Abdullah Al Sulaiti, Chief Executive Officer of Nakilat, said: “This ceremony marks a milestone not only for N-KOM but also for Qatar, as this is the first such offshore fabrication to be wholly-constructed locally.

“With N-KOM’s solid experience in handling offshore fabrication projects, and Rosetti Marino’s expertise in the field of EPC services, we are confident in delivering the project in a safe, timely and efficient manner, towards supporting the growth of Qatar’s oil and gas industry.”

An estimated 4,700 metric tonnes (MT) of structures will be fabricated by N-KOM as part of the project, comprising of jacket and piles, as well as a topside for the offshore platform.

The new offshore platform is intended to accommodate an additional 90 persons on board and will be linked via six bridges to the existing complex, thereby increasing the total accommodation capacity of the platform to 152 persons.

Expected to be completed by mid-2020, the additional accommodation capacity will enable the offshore platform to meet the demands of increased operational requirements.

احتفلت شركة ناقلات كيبيل للأعمال البحرية المحدودة (NKOM) بتدشين مشروع تصنيع أول مرفق سكني بحري من نوعه يتم تنفيذه بالكامل في حوض (إرحمه بن جابر الجلاهمه) لبناء وإصلاح السفن في مدينة راس لفان الصناعية بدولة قطر.

وكانت (روزيتي مارينو)، وهي شركة إيطالية رائدة تقوم بتنفيذ مشاريع الهندسة والمشتريات والبناء لقطاع الطاقة في جميع أنحاء العالم،قد حصلت على عقد تتولى بموجبه مسؤولية القيام بكافة أعمال الهندسة والمشتريات والبناء والتركيب والاختبار والبدء بأعمال التشغيل EPCIC ، لتصنيع مرافق سكنية بحرية جديدة وكذلك تجديد المنصة البحرية القائمة مع مرافقها المصاحبة ضمن مجمع الإنتاج البحري بحقل الشمال.

وقال المهندس عبدالله بن فضاله السليطي، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة ناقلات قائلاً: “تمثل هذه الإحتفالية بتدشين هذا المشروع علامة بارزة ليس فقط لشركة ناقلات كيبيل للأعمال البحرية لوحدها، بل أيضاً لدولة قطر، حيث يعد هذا أول مشروع بحري من نوعه على نطاق تجاري يتم تطويره محلياً. ومع تنامي خبرة ناقلات كيبيل للأعمال البحرية القوية في التعامل بإحترافية مع مشاريع التصنيع للمحطات والمنصات البحرية، وفي وجود خبرة شركة “روزيتي مارينو” ، نحن على ثقة تامة في تنفيذ هذا المشروع بجودة عالية وبطريقة آمنة وموثوقة، وتسليمه وفقاً للجدول الزمني المحدّد وبكفاءة عالية.”

وكجزء من تنفيذ المشروع، سيتم تصنيع ما يقدر بـ 4700 طن من الهياكل الفولاذية من قبل شركة ناقلات كيبيل للأعمال البحرية المحدودة، والذي يتألف معظمها من ركائز ومصدات خارجية، بالإضافة إلى تصميم الجزء العلوي للمنصة البحرية.

وسوف يأتي المرفق البحري السكني الجديد لإضافة وزيادة الطاقة الاستيعابية، ضمن نطاق منطقة المنصة البحرية، وسيتم ربط الموقع الجديد عبر ستة جسور بحرية ليتواصل مع بقية أجزاء السكن الحالية، مما يزيد من إجمالي سعة الإقامة في منطقة المنصة البحرية إلى 152 شخصاً. ومن المتوقع إكتمال تنفيذ هذا المرفق الحيوي الإضافي بحلول منتصف عام 2020، وسوف تتمكن هذه المنشأة الجديدة من تلبية متطلبات زيادة طاقة الاستيعاب والاحتياجات التشغيلية.
