Amir, President of Korea discuss relations of friendship and cooperation

Seoul: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and President of South Korea Moon Jae-in held a session of official talks on Monday morning at the presidential palace (the Blue House) in the capital Seoul.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Korean President welcomed HH the Amir and expressed his pleasure to meet His Highness and the accompanying delegation, looking forward to the positive results of the visit, especially as it coincides with the 45th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the two countries. The South Korean President also expressed hope to develop and promote these relations at the international level.
In his statements at the beginning of the talks, the Korean President extended his congratulations to HH the Amir on the victory of the Qatari national team over the Korean team in the Asian Cup, wishing the Qatari team success at the Qatar World Cup 2022.
In this regard, the Korean President noted his country’s experience in the organization of international sports events, referring to its success in organizing the 2002 World Cup and the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. He also expressed Korea’s willingness to provide help and share its experience with Qatar in organizing the 2022 World Cup.
The President expressed his pleasure at the development of friendly relations and cooperation in various fields, pointing out that Qatar’s friendship is important to Korea and that there is a comprehensive partnership between the two countries, referring to the Korean-Qatari partnership in the field of energy and economy and looking forward to developing it to wider horizons, especially with the promising potential of the two countries in all fields.
For his part, HH the Amir thanked the President for the warm welcome and hospitality and said that this is HH’s fourth official visit to Korea, affirming what the Korean President said that the relations between the two countries are strong and historical. HH also expressed hope to develop these relations, especially with the growing favorable opportunities between the two countries.
HH the Amir expressed his pleasure in hosting the 2022 World Cup Qatar as the first Arab country to host this great event, noting Korea’s experience in organizing major sports events such as Seoul Olympic Games, 2002 Busan Asian Games, 2002 World Cup and the Olympic Winter Games last year.
HH also expressed hope to benefit from South Korea’s experiences in preparing for the 2022 World Cup, especially as Qatar and Korea have already co-organized the 2006 Asian Games 2006 in Qatar.
HH the Amir said that Qatar’s preparations for hosting the 2022 World Cup and the infrastructure projects are proceeding in an excellent way, stressing his full satisfaction with the progress made in this regard.
HH the Amir hailed the promising Qatari national football team, which is preparing for the 2022 championship, where it achieved a very excellent result in the current Asian Cup, wishing it success in the semi-final match, and expressing satisfaction at its performance.
During the meeting, they discussed means to enhance cooperation and friendly relations between the two countries in various fields, especially in energy, economy, investment, health, agriculture, education and technology, as well as cooperation in the military field. The talks also dealt with the regional and international issues.
In this context, the Korean President thanked HH the Amir for the State of Qatar’s support of the inter-Korean peace process and for its stance in resolving the Gulf dispute through dialogue.
For his part, HH the Amir noted that the direct dialogue, especially between the two Koreas, is the best way to resolve all disputes.
The meeting was attended by Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir.
On the Korean side, it was attended by a number of Their Excellencies the ministers.

عقد حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، وفخامة الرئيس مون جيه إن رئيس جمهورية كوريا ، جلسة مباحثات رسمية صباح اليوم بالبيت الأزرق (القصر الرئاسي) في العاصمة سول.
وفي بداية الجلسة رحب فخامة الرئيس الكوري بسمو الأمير، وأعرب عن سعادته باستقبال سموه، والوفد المرافق، متطلعا لنتائج إيجابية تسفر عنها الزيارة، خاصة مع مرور 45 عاما على إقامة العلاقات بين البلدين، مؤملا فخامته في تنميتها وتعزيزها على المستوى الدولي أيضا.
كما عبر فخامة الرئيس الكوري في تصريحاته في بداية المباحثات عن تهانيه لسمو الأمير على فوز منتخب قطر لكرة القدم على منتخب كوريا في بطولة كأس آسيا، متمنيا أن يحقق المنتخب القطري نتائج في بطولة كأس العالم قطر 2022، وفي هذا الصدد أشار فخامة الرئيس إلى خبرات كوريا في تنظيم الأحداث الرياضية الدولية مثل نجاحها في تنظيم بطولة كأس العالم 2002 والأولمبياد الشتوية في بيونغ تشانغ 2018.. معربا عن استعداد كوريا في تقديم المساعدة وتبادل خبراتها مع قطر من أجل تنظيم بطولة كأس العالم.
وأكد فخامة الرئيس في ختام تصريحه عن سعادته بتطور علاقات الصداقة والتعاون في مختلف المجالات، وأضاف قائلا “صداقة قطر مهمة لكوريا ولدينا شراكة شاملة بين البلدين”، مستعرضا الشراكة الكورية القطرية في مجال الطاقة والاقتصاد، ومتطلعا لتطويرها إلى آفاق أوسع لاسيما مع الإمكانيات الواعدة للبلدين في كل المجالات.
ومن جانبه، شكر سمو الأمير المفدى فخامة الرئيس على حفاوة الاستقبال وحسن الضيافة، مشيرا إلى أن هذه الزيارة تعد الزيارة الرسمية الرابعة لسموه إلى كوريا، مؤكدا ما أشار له فخامة الرئيس من أن العلاقات بين البلدين علاقات قوية وتاريخية، متمنيا تطويرها خاصة مع تزايد الفرص المواتية بين البلدين.
وأعرب سمو الأمير عن سعادته باستضافة بطولة كأس العالم قطر 2022 كأول بلد عربي يستضيف هذا الحدث الكبير، مستعرضا تجربة كوريا في تنظيم الأحداث الرياضية الكبيرة من أولمبياد سول، وبطولة آسياد بوسان 2002 وكأس العالم 2002 وبطولة الألعاب الشتوية السنة الماضية، مؤملا سموه استفادة قطر من هذه الخبرات، في التعاون من أجل تنظيم بطولة كأس العالم 2022، خاصة وأنه سبق لقطر وكوريا التعاون في مجال تنظيم بطولة الآسياد في 2006 في قطر.
كما أوضح سمو الأمير أن استعدادات قطر لاستضافة بطولة كأس العالم قطر 2022 ومشاريع البنى التحتية تسير بشكل ممتاز، مؤكدا سموه رضاه التام على سير العمل لاستضافة هذه البطولة العالمية.
واختتم سمو الأمير تصريحه بالإشارة إلى منتخب قطر لكرة القدم المنتخب الشاب والواعد والذي يستعد لبطولة 2022 حيث حقق نتيجة ممتازة جدا في بطولة كأس آسيا الحالية، متمنيا له التوفيق في مباراة نصف النهائي القادمة، وقال سموه “أتمنى لهم التوفيق في المباراة القادمة واحنا راضيين كل الرضا على الفريق والمكان الذي وصل له”.
وجرى خلال الجلسة بحث سبل تعزيز مجالات التعاون وعلاقات الصداقة بين البلدين في مختلف المجالات، لاسيما في الطاقة والاقتصاد والاستثمار والصحة والزراعة والتعليم والتكنولوجيا بالإضافة الى التعاون في المجال العسكري.
كما تناولت الجلسة استعراض قضايا العالم والمنطقة، وفي هذا الإطار شكر فخامة الرئيس سمو الأمير على موقف دولة قطر الداعم لعملية السلام بين الكوريتين، وعلى موقفها المتمثل في حل الخلاف الخليجي بالحوار، من جانبه نوه سموه بأن الحوار المباشر لاسيما بين الكوريتين هو السبيل الأمثل لحل كل الخلافات.
حضر جلسة المباحثات أصحاب السعادة أعضاء الوفد الرسمي المرافق لسمو الأمير.
ومن الجانب الكوري حضرها عدد من أصحاب السعادة الوزراء.
