Amir, Imran Khan discuss promoting bilateral cooperation

Doha: The Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan discussed promoting bilateral relations in various fields, especially in investment, energy, food security and military cooperation, and exchanged views on current regional and international issues of common concern.

At the outset of the session of official talks held at the Amiri Diwan on Tuesday, the Amir welcomed the Pakistani Prime Minister, expressing his hope that the visit would contribute to enhancing cooperation between the two countries to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

For his part, Khan expressed his happiness at his first visit to Qatar, thanking the Amir and the Qatari people for the warm reception and hospitality, while stressing his country’s keenness to develop relations of cooperation with Qatar in various fields.

The talks were attended by the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, and a number of ministers.

From the Pakistani side, the session of talks was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the Prime Minister.

Khan arrived at the Amiri Diwan earlier, where he was accorded an official reception ceremony.

The Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of Khan and the delegation accompanying him at the Amiri Diwan on Tuesday.

وكان سمو الأمير المفدى في بداية جلسة المباحثات الرسمية التي عقدت قبل ظهر أمس بالديوان الأميري، قد رحب بدولة السيد عمران خان رئيس الوزراء الباكستاني، متطلعاً سموه إلى أن تساهم هذه الزيارة في تعزيز التعاون بين البلدين، بما يخدم مصالح الشعبين الشقيقين.

من جانبه، أعرب دولة رئيس الوزراء الباكستاني عن سعادته بزيارته الأولى لدولة قطر، شاكراً سمو الأمير والشعب القطري على حسن الاستقبال وكرم الضيافة، ومؤكداً حرص بلاده على تطوير علاقات التعاون مع قطر في مختلف المجالات.

حضر المباحثات معالي الشيخ عبدالله بن ناصر بن خليفة آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية، وعدد من أصحاب السعادة الوزراء.

ومن الجانب الباكستاني حضرها أعضاء الوفد الرسمي المرافق لدولة رئيس الوزراء.

وكان دولة السيد عمران خان، قد وصل إلى الديوان الأميري في وقت سابق، حيث أقيمت له مراسم استقبال رسمي.;
