Qatar Charity provides winter supplies to Syrian refugees

Doha: Qatar Charity (QC) has embarked on the implementation of four projects to contribute to providing the necessary winter supplies and medicines for Syrian refugees in Lebanon, with the aim of helping them cope with the cold of winter under its ‘Below Zero’ campaign.

Over 21,000 people are expected to benefit from the projects. First project is designed to help 2,000 refugee households with over 10,000 people and will provide them with heating fuel, food parcels, blankets and warm clothes.

This project also includes the delivery of heating fuel to a hospital, two health centers and a school and the provision of medicines for children and the elderly for 4 months of winter season through a hospital and four health centers in places like Chebaa and Arsal and in cities like Beirut and Sidon.

The second project focuses on providing two Syrian refugee schools near the Syrian-Lebanese border with heating fuel to protect refugee children from colds and winter diseases. The project is expected to benefit 655 students and teachers throughout the winter season.

The third project aims at distributing winter clothes to 1,000 Syrian children in the areas of asylum in Lebanon. These clothes include jackets, sweaters, a winter hats, gloves, socks. The fourth project is about a medical campaign in various governorates of Lebanon to provide treatment and medicine for Syrian refugees in order to protect them from the most deadly winter diseases.

The campaign also aims at providing the heating facilities for medical centers and panoramic apparatus for Al Rahma Medical Center in Chebaa. The project is expected to benefit 9,200 people. Qatar Charity has launched its ‘Below Zero’ winter campaign under the slogan ‘share the warmth” to help the displaced, refugees and the needy in nine countries cope with the cold of winter.

On this occasion, a delegation from Qatar Charity, has distributed 2,850 food baskets to all the families living in the camp, and sent 20 trucks loaded with food baskets into Syria to be distributed to the displaced Syrians, while other 60 trucks will be dispatched for the same purpose by the end of December.

The campaign aims to raise QR66m to provide the necessary winter needs for 800,000 people in three main areas, which are food, shelter and heating.

في إطار تواصل حملتها «تحت الصفر» لمواجهة برد الشتاء، والتي أطلقتها مؤخراً وبدعم من أهل قطر، شرعت «قطر الخيرية» في تنفيذ 4 مشاريع، إسهاماً منها في تلبية احتياجات التدفئة للاجئين السوريين بلبنان، وتوفير العلاجات اللازمة لمواجهة برد وأمراض الشتاء، حيث ينتظر أن يستفيد من هذه المشاريع أكثر من 21,000 شخص.

ملابس شتوية

ويسعى المشروع الأول إلى تقديم مساعدات لـ 2000 أسرة لاجئة (ما يزيد عن 10.000 شخص)، وتشتمل المساعدات التي تقدم من خلاله على تزويد الأسر بـ (وقود تدفئة، وطرد غذائي، وبطانيتين وثياب شتوية)، وتأمين وقود التدفئة لمستشفى ومركزين صحيين ومدرسة، وتوفير الأدوية للأطفال وكبار السن طيلة 4 أشهر (مدة فصل الشتاء)، لمواجهة أمراض البرد عبر مستشفى وأربعة مراكز صحية في مناطق كشبعا وعرسال ومدن كبيروت وصيدا. ويركز المشروع الثاني على تزويد مدرستين للاجئين السوريين في منطقتين قرب الحدود السورية اللبنانية بوقود التدفئة لحماية الأطفال اللاجئين من نزلات البرد وأمراض الشتاء، وتأمين جو دراسي لهم، ويستفيد من المشروع 655 طالباً ومدرِّساً طيلة شهور فصل الشتاء.

حملة طبية

ويستهدف المشروع الثالث توزيع ملابس شتوية على 1000 طفل سوري في مناطق اللجوء في البقاع والشمال اللبنانيين، فيما خصص المشروع الرابع لحملة طبية مكثفة في مختلف محافظات لبنان لتأمين العلاج والدواء للاجئين السوريين؛ بهدف حمايتهم من أمراض الشتاء الأكثر فتكاً بالأطفال والنساء وكبار السن، كما تهدف إلى تأمين التدفئة للمراكز الطبية؛ بهدف تأمين السلامة العامة ومنع تفاقم المرض بين المرضى في المراكز الطبية الجبلية، فضلاً تأمين جهاز بانوراميك للأشعة السينية في مركز الرحمة الطبي في منطقة شبعا، وينتظر أن يستفيد من المشروع 9200 شخص.

التبرع للحملة

وكانت «قطر الخيرية» انطلاقاً من مخيم للاجئين السوريين على الحدود التركية السورية قد دشنت منتصف الشهر الجاري حملتها «تحت الصفر» لإعانة النازحين واللاجئين والمحتاجين في 9 دول على مواجهة برد الشتاء تحت شعار «امنح الدفء»، حيث قام وفد من الجمعية بتوزيع 2850 سلة غذائية متكاملة لجميع أسر المخيم، كما قام بتجهيز وتسيير 20 شاحنة محملة بالسلال الغذائية للداخل السوري كدفعة أولى، فيما ستتوجّه حتى نهاية ديسمبر المقبل 60 شاحنة أخرى للغرض نفسه.

وتستهدف الحملة جمع 66 مليون ريال، بهدف توفير احتياجات الشتاء الضرورية لـ 800,000 شخص في ثلاثة مجالات هي: الغذاء والإيواء والتدفئة.
