DOHA: The State of Qatar attended the 108th GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee Meeting, held in Kuwait yesterday.

The Qatari delegation was led by Minister of Finance H E Ali Shareef Al Emadi. The meeting was attended by Their Excellencies GCC ministers of finance, economy and planning.

During the meeting, the importance of the continued efforts of GCC countries to adapt to current financial and economic developments as well as to regional and international challenges was reiterated. The importance to support and promote joint GCC economic development was also reaffirmed.

Several other matters were discussed, including following up on the implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Council relating to the joint GCC financial and economic work, the developments of the GCC common market and the Customs Union of GCC states.

The meeting also saw the adoption of the recommendations of the 71st Meeting of the Committee of Governors of Monetary Institutions and Central Banks of the GCC States, held in Kuwait last month. The 108th GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee preceded the 54th meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Finance and Economy of the GCC States.

ترأس سعادة السيد علي شريف العمادي وزير المالية، وفد دولة قطر في أعمال الاجتماع الثامن بعد المائة للجنة التعاون المالي والاقتصادي بدول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، الذي استضافته دولة الكويت الشقيقة، يوم أمس الثلاثاء، وذلك بمشاركة وزراء المالية والاقتصاد والتخطيط بالدول الست، وحضور الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون.

خلال الاجتماع، تم التأكيد على أهمية استمرارية سعي دول المجلس إلى مواكبة التطورات والتحديات المالية والاقتصادية الراهنة على المستويين الإقليمي والدولي، مع ترجمة هذه الجهود والإنجازات المتحققة على نحو يساهم بصورة مباشرة في دعم وتعزيز مسيرة العمل الاقتصادي الخليجي المشترك.

كما تم بحث العديد من الموضوعات وأوراق العمل المدرجة على جدول الأعمال، ومنها متابعة تنفيذ قرارات المجلس الأعلى المتعلقة بالعمل المالي والاقتصادي الخليجي المشترك، ومستجدات السوق الخليجي المشترك وهيئة الاتحاد الجمركي لدول المجلس. وتجدر الإشارة إلى أنه قد تم اعتماد توصيات الاجتماع الـ (71) للجنة محافظي مؤسسات النقد والبنوك المركزية بدول المجلس، الذي عقد بدولة الكويت في الشهر الماضي.;
