Doha: In a brief interview on the sidelines of the Paris Peace Forum, later published by Agence France Presse (AFP), Secretary General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) Hassan Al Thawadi was misquoted regarding the issue of other countries hosting training camps during the World Cup, SC said on Monday.
SC explained that where teams are hosted is an issue that is part of the operational plan. This decision is ultimately decided by FIFA and the respective national associations. Nothing is decided on this matter yet and it remains under discussion, SC added.
أوضحت اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، في بيان لها اليوم، أن صيغة الخبر المنقول عبر وكالة الأنباء الفرنسية فيها خروج عن نص التصريح الذي أدلى به السيد حسن الذوادي الأمين العام للجنة والذي أكد خلاله أنه على الرغم من أن دول عدة أبدت استعدادها للمساهمة في ترتيبات استضافة الفرق في 2022، إلا أن الموضوع ليس مطروحا للنقاش الآن كونه جزءا من الخطة التشغيلية للبطولة وصاحب القرار بهذا الأمر هو الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم فيفا بالتشاور مع الاتحادات الوطنية للمنتخبات المشاركة، وسيتم اتخاذ قرار بهذا الشأن في الوقت المناسب.
