Doha: Dr. Yousef Al-Maslamani, Medical Director of Hamad General Hospital, confirmed that the decline in the number of daily Covid-19 infections augurs moving to the second phase of the gradual lifting of restrictions.
Dr. Al-Maslamani told Qatar TV’s Social Distance Program last night, according to current case figures, there is no objection to moving to the second phase of the plan to gradually lift restrictions.
On dispensing with the wearing of masks like some countries, he said: The decreasing of cases of infections bodes well, but we have not reached the stage of lifting the mask-wearing requirement, and the elimination of masks has been put within the next stages according to the report of the Scientific Committee.
With regard to the procedures for visiting patients at Hamad Hospital, he said: “Three people are now allowed to visit the patient during the day and sit for an hour instead of a quarter of an hour as was the case in the past.

وحول الاستغناء عن ارتداء الكمامة أسوة ببعض الدول، قال: انخفاض الإصابات يبشر بالخير، لكن لم نصل إلى مرحلة رفع الكمامة، وتم وضع الاستغناء عن الكمامة ضمن المراحل المقبلة وفقًا لتقرير اللجنة العلمية.
وفيما يتعلق بالإجراءات الخاصة بزيارة المرضى في مستشفى حمد، قال: يسمح الآن بزيارة 3 أفراد للمريض خلال اليوم الواحد وجلوس الزائر لساعة كاملة بدلًا من ربع ساعة في السابق.
