Expo showcases stunning Russian fashion designs

DOHA: Exquisitely executed pieces by internationally acclaimed Russian fashion designer Tatyana Parfionova took the breath away of audiences at a fashion show which marked the launch of the eight-day “Russian Seasons” exhibition yesterday at the Fire Station.

It was a colourful celebration of Russian fashion design and craftsmanship as models sashayed along wearing dozens of stunning creations from an exclusive demi-couture collection of Parfionova made especially for the event.

Parfionova is a well-known Russian fashion designer whose Fashion House established in 1995 has become one of the symbols of Saint Petersburg and a platform for her various artistic initiatives. Her collections and works of art reflect a great love for nature with a large variety of colours, flora and fauna, which were depicted on the dresses showcased at the show.

A full collection by Vika Gazinskaya showcasing 22 of the brand’s most complex and iconic pieces was also unveiled at the Fire Station’s Gallery Space yesterday.

Speaking to local media, Gazinskaya said she was very happy to be in Doha to exhibit some of her works.

“This collection was exhibited last year in Moscow, my native city in celebration of my brand’s 10th year. The dresses were some of the unique pieces from various collections in the past 10 years,” she said on the exhibition which is open to the public until October 23.

Gazinskaya is an internationally acclaimed fashion designer, street-style icon and one of today’s trendsetters well-known for voluminous structured designs, whimsical bright patterns, hand-stitched details and use of luxurious materials, sourced from suppliers in Italy and France. Her designs are worn by some of the most influential celebrities from around the world including Leandra Medine, Veronika Heilbrunner, Natasha Goldenberg, Elle Fanning, Giovanna Battaglia and many others.

Curated by Frol Burimsky, the event also featured rare samples of the Russian authentic folk craft – Krestetskaya strochka which is a material manifestation of the spiritual culture of the Russian people, which has been representing the Novgorodian land since 1860. For more than a hundred years, the masterly craftsmanship of this delicate embroidery has been passed down the generations, carefully maintaining its traditions while also looking for new methods.

“We are delighted to display the works of two incredible designers in the modern space of Doha Fire Station, which is equally as exquisite, original and recognizable as the garments on show,” said Burimsky.

The event was a significant part of the Qatar-Russia 2018 Year of Culture programme developed by Qatar Museums to deepen understanding between nations through mutual exchanges in arts, culture, heritage and sport.

A similar event was held last week at the Multimedia Art Museum in Moscow titled “Qatari Seasons” which introduced the audience to Qatari designers including Wadha Al Hajri, Waad Mohammed and Qatari jewellery brand, Noudar.

استمتع الضيوف بمشاهدة مجموعة أزياء مميزة من تصميم تاتيانا بارفيونوفا خصيصاً لهذا الحدث، وقطع فريدة من اللؤلؤ الطبيعي، الذي قدّمته مجوهرات الفردان خصيصاً لهذه المناسبة، بالإضافة إلى مجموعة كاملة من تصميم فيكا غازينسكايا، التي تقدم أزياءً راقية ومميزة، إلى جانب نماذج نادرة من الحرف اليدوية الروسية الأصيلة لكريستتسكايا ستروتشكا، وقد أبرز الإنتاج التقليدي الفريد من مدينة فيليكي نوفغورود التميز في حرفة التطريز التي عرضت الدقة المميزة لهذا التطريز التقليدي الجميل.

ويفتح معرض فيكا غازينسكايا أبوابه للجمهور في مطافئ الدوحة من 16 إلى 23 أكتوبر. كما تم عرض مجموعة أزياء تاتيانا بارفيونوفا، ليوم واحد فقط، 17 أكتوبر، في صالة العرض في فندق الدبليو بالدوحة.

وكان هناك معرض مماثل للأزياء والمجوهرات القطرية بعنوان «مواسم قطرية»، أقيم بمتحف فنون الوسائط المتعددة في العاصمة الروسية موسكو، 8 أكتوبر الحالي، في إطار فعاليات العام الثقافي قطر – روسيا 2018.

وخلال معرض مواسم قطر، تم عرض مجموعة من الأزياء للمصممة القطرية وضحى الهاجري، التي قامت بعرض تشكيلة من الأزياء الراقية لعلامتها التجارية، التي صممت خصيصاً لمعرض «مواسم قطرية».

وتضمن المعرض القطري أيضاً عرض مجموعة من المجوهرات التي تتميز بأنها مزيج من رموز قطرية تقليدية، مع عناصر مستوحاة من العمارة والفن الحديث، وتضمنت المجموعة التي تم تسليمها إلى موسكو لبضعة أيام فقط، خاتماً مخرماً مصنوعاً من الذهب الأبيض والأصفر والوردي، مع الماس والياقوت، وخواتم وأساور تقلد أنماط الحناء التقليدية والأقراط بالزمرد والياقوت.

وتمكن الضيوف من معرفة تفسير الملابس النسائية التقليدية التي صممتها المصممة وعد يامن، وقد أعدت عبايات حديثة، مزينة بالحرير والدانتيل، ومطرزة باليد.

الجدير بالذكر أن العام الثقافي قطر-روسيا 2018 يوفر جواً من الثقة والتفاهم الضروري لبناء العلاقات التجارية، وتعزيز الشراكة الاقتصادية والسياحية والثقافية بين البلدينفي عام 2018، حيث تم منح دولة قطر المكانة الفخرية كضيف شرف منتدى سانت بطرسبرغ الثقافي الدولي السابع، الذي سيعقد في الفترة من 15 إلى 17 نوفمبر 2018.;
