Qatar welcomes temporary truce with Taliban
دولة قطر ترحب بإعلان الرئيس الأفغاني وقفا مؤقتا لإطلاق النار مع “طالبان”
DOHA: The State of Qatar has welcomed Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghan’s announcement of a temporary ceasefire with Taliban movement starting on the 27th of Ramadan until the fifth day of Eid Al Fitr.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s hope that Taliban would comply immediately with the declaration. The statement voiced Qatar’s hope that the announcement would pave the way for the Afghan government and Taliban to sit to the negotiating table in order to reach a comprehensive peaceful settlement that helps in achieving stability and restoring security to Afghanistan. The statement reaffirmed Qatar’s firm stance in calling for a political solution in Afghanistan, pointing in this regard to the Qatari mediation between the government and the movement, which aims to establish peace in Afghanistan.
رحبت دولة قطر بإعلان الرئيس الأفغاني محمد أشرف غني عن وقف مؤقت لإطلاق النار مع حركة “طالبان”، وذلك اعتبارا من السابع والعشرين من شهر رمضان المبارك وحتى خامس أيام العيد.
وأعربت وزارة الخارجية، في بيان اليوم، عن أمل دولة قطر بأن تتجاوب حركة /طالبان/ فورا مع هذا الإعلان.
وعبر البيان عن تطلع دولة قطر إلى أن يمهد هذا الإعلان إلى جلوس الحكومة الأفغانية وحركة /طالبان/ إلى طاولة الحوار للتوصل إلى تسوية سلمية شاملة تسهم في تحقيق الاستقرار وإعادة الأمن إلى أفغانستان.
وأكد البيان على موقف قطر الثابت الداعي إلى حل سياسي في أفغانستان، وأشار في هذا الصدد إلى الوساطة القطرية بين الحكومة والحركة والتي تهدف إلى إحلال السلام في أفغانستان.
