PM visits Hamad Port and strategic food security facilities

Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani paid yesterday morning an inspection visit to Hamad Port and the strategic food security facilities in Umm Al Houl.
During the visit, the Prime Minister received a brief on the operating process, loading and unloading, insurance of import and re-exporting of goods in the port. The Prime Minister listened to explanations on operation techniques and the various maritime facilities of the port including the customs inspection area; vessel inspection facilities; transport mechanism; food security facilities; silos and facilities for storing, refining and packing rice, sugar and oils.
The Prime Minister also took a tour in the port during which he listened to an explanation on how the of loading stations, general cargo station, grain station and car station work and the mechanism of facilitating and developing the required support services for containers. The Prime Minister and Interior Minister was accompanied during the visit by Minister of Transport and Communications, H E Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti; Minister of Municipality and Environment, H E Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, and President of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), Dr Saad bin Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mohannadi.
قام معالي الشيخ عبدالله بن ناصر بن خليفة آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية، صباح أمس، بزيارة تفقدية لميناء حمد والمخازن الاستراتيجية للأمن الغذائي بمنطقة أم الحول.
واطلع معاليه خلال الزيارة على آلية سير العمل في الميناء وعمليات الشحن والتفريغ وتأمين الاستيراد وإعادة تصدير السلع والبضائع.
كما استمع معاليه لشرح حول التقنيات المتبعة في عملية التشغيل والتي تتسم بأعلى معايير الأمن والسلامة، بالإضافة إلى المرافق البحرية المتعددة للميناء من منطقة التفتيش الجمركي ومنصة تفتيش السفن وآلية النقل ومرافق الأمن الغذائي وصوامع التخزين والمرافق التابعة لتخزين وتكرير وتعبئة الأرز والسكر والزيوت.
كما قام معاليه بجولة استمع خلالها لشرح حول كيفية عمل محطات الشحن ومحطة البضائع العامة ومحطة الحبوب ومحطة السيارات، بالإضافة إلى آلية تسهيل وتطوير خدمات الدعم المطلوبة للحاويات.
رافق معاليه خلال الزيارة سعادة السيد جاسم بن سيف السليطي وزير المواصلات والاتصالات، وسعادة السيد عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز السبيعي وزير البلدية والبيئة، وسعادة الدكتور المهندس سعد بن أحمد المهندي رئيس هيئة الأشغال العامة.
