Truck Parking Area in Al Shamal City
اكتمال الطرق المؤدية لمواقف الشاحنات بمدينة الشمال
The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announced the completion of construction of roads that connect Al Shamal Road with the truck parking area located near the Industrial Area in Al Shamal City. The truck parking roads are considered a vital part of phase one of Ashghal’s Roads and Infrastructure Development Project in Al Shamal, implemented by Ashghal.
Eng. Ali Ashkanani, Head of North Areas Section of the Roads Projects Department in Ashghal, said that the authority completed the construction of four dual carriageway roads with a total length of 2.2 kilometres, which will provide the truck drivers with an easy access from the truck parking area in Al Shamal City into Al Shamal road, leading to Doha City and other parts of the country, and vice versa.
Eng. Ali Ashkanani noted that the four roads include two lanes in each direction separated be a median, in addition to three roundabouts that will regulate the movement of the trucks. The roads are also provided with street lighting, traffic signs, and road marking in order to enhance traffic safety in the area. Eng. Ashkanani added that these roads were constructed in accordance with the highest standards and specifications, and were designed to withstand large truck loads.
It’s worth mentioning that phase one of the Roads and Infrastructure Development Project in Al Shamal includes a wide range of rehabilitation works for the existing local roads to transform them to developed roads that meet the population growth in Al Shamal. The project also includes building developed roads and a new sewage network needed in the area to serve about 3600 business and residential buildings.
أعلنت هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” عن انتهائها من تنفيذ أعمال إنشاء طرق تهدف إلى ربط طريق الشمال بمنطقة مواقف الشاحنات الواقعة بالقرب من المنطقة الصناعية بمدينة الشمال. وتعتبر طرق مواقف الشاحنات جزءاً هاماً من المرحلة الأولى لمشروع تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية في الشمال الذي تنفذه “أشغال”.
وصرّح المهندس علي أشكناني، رئيس قسم مشاريع المناطق الشمالية في إدارة مشاريع الطرق في “أشغال”، بأن الهيئة انتهت من تنفيذ أربعة طرق مزدوجة بطول إجمالي يبلغ 2.2 كيلومتر، لتوفر لسائقي الشاحنات سهولة الوصول من منطقة مواقف الشاحنات في مدينة الشمال إلى طريق الشمال، ومنه إلى مدينة الدوحة ومختلف مناطق الدولة، والعكس.
وأشار المهندس علي أشكناني إلى أن الطرق الأربعة المنجزة تشتمل على مسارين في كل اتجاه يفصل بينها جزيرة وسطية، بالإضافة إلى ثلاثة دوارات لتنظيم حركة مرور الشاحنات. كما تم تزويدها بأعمدة إنارة، ولوحات إرشادية، وعلامات الطرق من أجل تعزيز السلامة المرورية في المنطقة. وأضاف أشكناني بأن إنجاز هذه الطرق تم وفقاً لأعلى المعايير والمواصفات وبما يضمن تحملها لاستخدام الشاحنات ذات الحمولات الكبيرة.
من الجدير بالذكر أن المرحلة الأولى من مشروع تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية في الشمال تضم أعمال واسعة لإعادة تأهيل الطرق المحلية والداخلية القائمة لتحويلها إلى طرق تواكب النمو السكاني المتزايد في منطقة الشمال، وإنشاء طرق متطورة وشبكة صرف صحي جديدة تحتاجها المنطقة، لخدمة حوالي 3600 منشأة تجارية وسكنية.
