Qatar denies rumours of sending message to Israeli PM’s office

Qatar has categorically denied recent reports based on rumours that Doha has sent an alleged message to the Israeli prime minister’s office.
In a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “We have noted the enthusiasm with which some circles have received what was reported in the Israeli media. We also wondered what their unbridled imagination was about the false news of their consistent attempts to distort the image of the State of Qatar and its relentless efforts to support the steadfastness and struggle of the Palestinian people in order to restore their legitimate rights.

“It is well known that the State of Qatar has been playing the role of mediator in lifting the injustice imposed on the Palestinian people besieged in the Gaza Strip for years.

The statement said mediation requires holding meetings with all parties, but distorting the facts to undermine the noble efforts aimed at saving the Palestinian blood as well as ensuring the rights of Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims in Al-Quds Al-Sharif is worthy to be denounced.

“Also as part of the distortion of facts process was circulation of a picture of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, with a businessman in the United States , where the systematic campaign of distortion tried to focus on the religion of the man as an effort to link this meeting arbitrarily with Israel and the renunciation of the Palestinian and Islamic right in Jerusalem,” the statement said.

“The State of Qatar, which has been hosting interfaith dialogue conferences for years, has no enmity with religion or race, which is the tolerance we have been inspired from true Islam. But the main problem lies in the Israeli occupation and its practices towards the brotherly Palestinian people, ” said the statement.

وقالت وزارة الخارجية ، في بيان اليوم ” لقد استوقفنا الحماس الذي تلقفت به بعض الأوساط ما ورد في وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية، كما هالنا ما نسجته مخيلتهم الجامحة حول الخبر المغلوط من أوهام تتسق ومحاولاتهم المستمرة تشويه صورة دولة قطر وجهودها الحثيثة في سبيل دعم صمود الشعب الفلسطيني وكفاحه من أجل استرداد حقوقه المشروعة. ومعروف للقاصي والداني أن دولة قطر ما فتئت تلعب دور الوسيط لرفع الظلم القائم على الشعب الفلسطيني المحاصر في قطاع غزة لسنوات”.

واضاف البيان “ومن المعلوم أيضا ما تتطلبه هذه الوساطة من عقد لقاءات مع جميع الأطراف، أما ليّ عنق الحقائق وإعادة تركيبها بحيث تسوق هذه الجهود النبيلة التي تستهدف حقن الدم الفلسطيني على أنها قبول بالتفريط في حق الفلسطينيين والعرب والمسلمين في القدس الشريف فهو أمر مستهجن”.

وتابع “ويدخل في عملية ليّ عنق الحقائق، ما يتم تداوله من صورة لسعادة الشيخ محمد بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية ، مع إحدى الشخصيات الأمريكية العاملة في قطاع الأعمال في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، حيث حاول القائمون على حملة التشويه الممنهجة التركيز على ديانة الرجل كمدخل لربط هذا اللقاء بشكل متعسف مع إسرائيل والتنازل عن الحق الفلسطيني والإسلامي في القدس الشريف”.

وأكد البيان” أنه ليس لدولة قطر التي تستضيف مؤتمرات حوار الأديان منذ سنوات ، عداوة مع دين أو عرق ، وهي السماحة التي استلهمناها من سماحة الإسلام الحنيف، إنما تكمن المشكلة الأساسية في الاحتلال الاسرائيلي وممارساته تجاه الشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق”.
