1,136 computers installed at Mekaines quarantine centre

As many as 1,136 computers were installed at the quarantine facility for workers in Mekaines to enable the inhabitants to better communicate with their family members and relatives back home.
The computers are provided by the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Transportation and Communications in cooperation with the Qatar Red Crescent Society as part of the “Better Communication” initiative.
The Better Communication initiative is supported by several partners, including Vodafone, Microsoft, Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) and the Institute of Social, Economic and Survey Research.
Besides enabling people under quarantine to communicate with their family members and relatives, the devices help them access the education materials on ways to prevent and protect themselves from coronavirus.

قامت وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية ووزارة المواصلات والاتصالات، بالتعاون مع الهلال الأحمر القطري، بإمداد مدينة مكينس العمالية بأجهزة كمبيوتر يصل عددها إلى 1136 جهازاً، وذلك عبر مبادرة «التواصل الأفضل»، وانطلاقاً من حرص الوزارة المستمر على توفير الرعاية الشاملة للعمال.
وستتيح الأجهزة التي تم توفيرها على دفعتين للعمالة الذين يخضعون للعزل، التواصل مع أقاربهم في بلادهم عبر برنامج «التواصل الأفضل»، إضافة إلى تقديم النشرات التوعوية المتاحة بعدة لغات، وإرشادهم لأخذ كل التدابير الاحترازية للوقاية من فيروس كورونا «كوفيد – 19».
الجدير بالذكر أن برنامج «التواصل الأفضل» يحظى بدعم العديد من الشركاء، بما في ذلك شركتا فودافون ومايكروسوفت، ومؤسسة أيادي الخير نحو آسيا (روتا)، ومعهد البحوث الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والمسحية.
