وزير البلدية يدشن مشروع أم غويلينة لزراعة الأعلاف الخضراء
DOHA: Minister of Municipality and Environment H E Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi yesterday inaugurated the production phase of Umm Ghuwailina Green Fodder Project, which was launched by the State with the participation of the private sector as part of the government’s quest for self-sufficiency of green fodder. The project was developed by Al-Baida Group.
The Minister said in a speech following the launch that Umm Ghuwailina Green Fodder Project comes as part of the State strategy to achieve food security, explaining that the government has paid great attention to the agricultural sector to reduce dependence on imported food and to realise self-sufficiency of basic foodstuffs.
He added that achieving the aspired steps in this path would contribute to the expansion of the production base of the Qatari economy to bridge the gap between supply and demand in the local market of high-quality green and dry fodder, and the building-up of strategic stocks of fodder at competitive prices with the highest production rates according to the best standards and practices. The Minister praised the practical experience of the State in the field of agricultural production based on the contribution of the private sector, adding that the comprehensive agricultural development experienced by the state during the past years is an evidence of its wise approach and good policies in all fields.
In a press release issued Al-Baida Group Chairman Eng. Ali bin Abdullatif Al Masnad said that the group is working to complete the project on time in spite of the siege conditions, relying on alternative markets to provide all agricultural equipment, fertilizers and seeds in a record time to comply with the time agreed upon with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
He explained that the total area of the project is 191 hectares. The area agreed with the Ministry of Municipality and has been planted is 80 percent of the project area to produce 2,700-3,000 tonnes of clover per year.
دشن سعادة السيد محمد بن عبدالله الرميحي وزير البلدية والبيئة، الإنتاج في مشروع أم غويلينة لزراعة الأعلاف الخضراء (البرسيم)، الذي أطلقته الدولة بمشاركة القطاع الخاص، حيث طورته مجموعة “البيداء”، وذلك في إطار سعي الحكومة لتحقيق الاكتفاء الذاتي من الأعلاف الخضراء.
وقال سعادة وزير البلدية والبيئة في كلمة له إثر تدشين المشروع، إن مشروع أم غويلينة لزراعة الأعلاف الخضراء بمياه الصرف المعالجة، يأتي ضمن استراتيجية الدولة في حماية الأمن الغذائي، حيث أولت الحكومة الرشيدة اهتماماً كبيراً للقطاع الزراعي للتقليل من الاعتماد على المواد الغذائية المستوردة والوصول إلى الاكتفاء الذاتي من المواد الغذائية الأساسية.
وأضاف أن تحقيق الخطوات المنشودة في هذا الطريق من شأنه أن يسهم في توسيع القاعدة الانتاجية للاقتصاد القطري وصولا لسد الفجوة بين العرض والطلب في السوق المحلية من الاعلاف الخضراء والجافة عالية الجودة، وتكوين مخزون استراتيجي من الاعلاف وبأسعار تنافسية مع تحقيق أعلى معدلات الانتاج وفق أفضل المعايير والممارسات العالمية في هذا القطاع.
وثمن التجربة العملية التي تخوضها الدولة في مجال الإنتاج الزراعي معتمدة على مساهمة القطاع الخاص.. مضيفا أن التنمية الزراعية الشاملة التي تعيشها الدولة منذ السنوات الماضية هي الدليل الساطع على نهجها الحكيم وسياستها الرشيدة في كافة المجالات.
وفي بيان صحفي صدر عن مجموعة “البيداء” اليوم، قال المهندس علي بن عبداللطيف المسند، رئيس مجلس إدارة مجموعة البيداء المستثمرة والمطورة لمشروع أم غويلينة لزراعة الأعلاف الخضراء، إن المجموعة تعمل على إنجاز المشروع في الوقت المحدد رغم ظروف الحصار، حيث اعتمدت على أسواق بديلة لتوفير كل المعدات الزراعية والأسمدة والبذور بوقت قياسي للتقيد بالوقت الذي تم الاتفاق عليه مع وزارة البلدية والبيئة.
وبين أن مساحة المشروع تصل إلى 191 هكتارا تم زراعة المساحة المتفق عليها مع وزارة البلدية والبالغة 80 بالمئة من مساحة المشروع لإنتاج 2700-3000 طن سنوياً من البرسيم.
