QFA delegation to participate in FIFA Congress in Russia today
الاتحاد القطري لكرة القدم يشارك غدا في كونغرس الفيفا بروسيا
Doha: A delegation from the Qatar Football Association (QFA), headed by the President of the QFA, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, will participate in the congress of the FIFA, which will kick off in Russia today.
The delegation left yesterday to take part in the 68th FIFA congress, which precedes the opening of the 2018 World Cup. The delegation includes the QFA Vice-President, Saud Al Mohannadi, and the QFA Secretary-General, Mansour Al Ansari. The QFA President will also attend the World Cup opening match which brings together the Russian and Saudi teams.
The world is closely following up the FIFA congress due to the importance of its agenda, which includes a number of important topics that are of interest to the State of Qatar as well. The most important of which is the discussion of the proposal of the South American Football Federation (CONMEBOL) to increase the number of teams to 48 in 2022 Qatar World Cup.
In the presence of HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani and FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the countries of the CONMEBOL called during the General Assembly meeting in Buenos Aires on April 12 for accelerating the transition from 32 teams to 48 starting from the 2022 World Cup
يشارك وفد الاتحاد القطري لكرة القدم برئاسة سعادة الشيخ حمد بن خليفة بن أحمد آل ثاني رئيس الاتحاد في كونغرس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم الفيفا الذي يعقد في روسيا وينطلق غدا الثلاثاء.
وتوجه الوفد اليوم للمشاركة في فعاليات كونغرس الفيفا الثامن والستين، الذي يسبق افتتاح مونديال روسيا 2018، ويضم الوفد السيد سعود المهندي نائب رئيس الاتحاد، والسيد منصور الأنصاري الأمين العام للاتحاد.
كما يشهد سعادة رئيس الاتحاد افتتاح المونديال الذي يجمع بين المنتخبين الروسي والسعودي.
ويترقب العالم كونغرس الفيفا باهتمام كبير نظرا لأهمية جدول الأعمال الذي يتضمن العديد من الموضوعات الهامة والتي تهم دولة قطر أيضا في المقام الأول، وفي مقدمتها مناقشة مقترح اتحاد أمريكا الجنوبية (كونميبول) بزيادة عدد منتخبات مونديال قطر 2022 إلى 48 منتخبا.
وطالبت دول اتحاد أمريكا الجنوبية لكرة القدم خلال اجتماع الجمعية العمومية في العاصمة الأرجنتينية بوينس آيرس في 12 إبريل الماضي بحضور سعادة الشيخ حمد بن خليفة بن أحمد آل ثاني، وانفانتينو رئيس الفيفا، بتسريع عملية الانتقال من 32 منتخبا إلى 48 بدءا من كأس العالم 2022.
