Apple and Google have launched a joint application to employ smartphone technology to contain the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19 ) around the world.
The new application will be available for installation on smartphones, which will facilitate the use of Bluetooth technology to track down people who may have got infected from people carrying the virus.
The idea aims to support governments in their efforts to contain the emerging virus, to introduce applications to track the incidence of contact between the sick and the healthy.
Applications can be run on both Android and iOS systems.
Application developers in Singapore and China have started designing tracking applications using the same technology.
Apple and Google plan to launch their new tools in May. Both companies emphasize that they take into account user privacy and security.

أطلقت شركتا “آبل” و”غوغل” برنامجا مشتركا لتوظيف تكنولوجيا الهواتف الذكية في أغراض احتواء تفشي فيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19) حول العالم.
وسيكون البرنامج الجديد متاحا للتثبيت على الهواتف الذكية، ما سيسهل استخدام تقنية البلوتوث لتعقب الأشخاص المحتمل أنهم تناقلوا العدوى من أشخاص حاملين للفيروس.
وتهدف الفكرة لمساندة الحكومات في جهودها لاحتواء الفيروس المستجد، إلى طرح تطبيقات تتبع بها حالات المخالطة بين المرضى والأصحاء.
ويمكن تشغيل التطبيقات على كل من أنظمة “آندرويد” و”آي أو إس”.
وباشر مطورو التطبيقات في كل من سنغافورة والصين بتصميم تطبيقات تتبع باستخدام التقنية ذاتها.
وتنوي “آبل” و “غوغل” طرح أدواتها الجديدة في مايو المقبل.. وتؤكد الشركتان على أخذهما خصوصية المستخدم وأمنه بعين الاعتبار.
