QND event in Turkey highlights bilateral ties

Doha: The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Turkey, H E Salem bin Mubarak Al Shafi, held a reception on the occasion of Qatar National Day which was attended by H E Binali Yildirim, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, who delivered a speech at the event.

The ceremony was also attended by Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Minister of Youth and Sports, Governor of the Capital State of Ankara, Secretary-General of the Council National Security, Senior Advisor to the President of the Republic of Turkey and Spokesman of the Republic of Turkey, Second President of the Turkish General Staff, President of the Grand Union Party, MPs from the Justice and Development Party, Advisor to the President for Middle East Affairs, Senior Correspondents of the President and Advisor to the President for Media Affairs, and a large number of deputies in the Turkish Parliament, mayors and heads of municipalities as well as diplomatic missions and international organisations accredited to the Republic of Turkey.

The Ambassador said in a speech that thanks to the wise and pioneering leadership of the founder of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Thani, Qatar has earned its reputation, prestige and weight among the countries of the world.

He stressed that the relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey during the past few years have become an international model to be followed at various levels. He also stressed that the relations between the two countries are based on a solid foundation of noble values and principles and the eternal triumph of humanity.

He pointed out that the relations between the two countries have faced three serious challenges. The first concerns the failed coup attempt that took place in Turkey in July 2016. Qatar was one of the first countries to stand firmly with Turkey and supported its legitimate authority. And the unjust siege imposed on us by some neighboring countries. At that time, Turkey did not hesitate to support Qatar, and courageously supported it. The third is the turbulent economic crisis that has hit Turkey. He said that two countries emerged from these crises and together managed to overcome difficulties and challenges and continue their common path successfully.

The Ambassador expressed his happiness with the relations between the two countries, under the wise leadership of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and H E President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stressing that the State of Qatar will always stand with Turkey in the challenges it faces, and “we consider that what hits Turkey, also hits the State of Qatar”.

For his part, H E Binali Yildirim, the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, congratulated the State of Qatar on celebrating the National Day, pointing out that his country’s strong relations with Qatar are well established and stable in times of crisis.

He added that the Qatari brothers know who to stand with them in good and bad. He said that the momentum of the development of relations between the two countries will continue at all political and economic levels, in addition to the defence. He explained that Turkey is the true friend of Qatar, confident and honest, and that relations at all levels are steadily increasing between two countries.

وأوضح سعادة السفير -في كلمة- أنه بفضل القيادة الحكيمة والرائدة لمؤسس دولة قطر الشيخ جاسم بن حمد بن ثاني «طيب الله ثراه»، قد اكتسبت دولة قطر اعتبارها ومكانتها وثقلها بين دول العالم.

وأكد سعادته على أن العلاقات بين دولة قطر والجمهورية التركية، خلال الأعوام القليلة الماضية، تحولت إلى نموذج دولي يحتذى به على مختلف المستويات، كما أكد سعادته الحرص على أن تقوم العلاقات بين البلدين على قاعدة صلبة من القيم والمبادئ السامية والانتصار دائماً للإنسانية، بالإضافة إلى التناغم التام إزاء الملفات السياسية الإقليمية والدولية.

ولفت سعادة السفير إلى أن العلاقات بين البلدين قد واجهت ثلاثة تحديات جدية، الأول يتعلق بالمحاولة الانقلابية الفاشلة التي جرت في تركيا يوليو العام 2016، وكانت حينها دولة قطر من أوائل الدول التي وقفت بصلابة إلى جانب تركيا، وساندت سلطتها الشرعية، والثاني بعد أقل من عام واحد فقط، والمتمثل في الأزمة الخليجية المفتعلة مع قطر، والحصار الغاشم الظالم الذي تم فرضه علينا من قبل بعض دول الجوار، ولم تتوان تركيا حينذاك لحظة عن دعم قطر، ونصرتها بشجاعة، أما الثالث فيتمثل في الأزمة الاقتصادية المفتعلة التي مرت بها تركيا، إلا أن البلدين خرجا من هذه الأزمات أكثر قوة وحنكة، وتمكنا معاً من تجاوز الصعوبات والتحديات، ومواصلة مسارهما المشترك بنجاح.

وعبر سعادة السفير عن سعادته لما وصلت إليه العلاقات بين البلدين، في ظل القيادة الرشيدة لحضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى «حفظه الله»، وفخامة الرئيس رجب طيب أردوغان رئيس الجمهورية التركية الشقيقة، مؤكداً على أن «دولة قطر ستقف دوماً مع تركيا في التحديات التي تواجهها، ونعتبر أن ما يمس تركيا يمس دولة قطر أيضا، وكلنا ثقة أن العكس صحيح».

من جهته، هنأ سعادة السيد بن علي يلدريم -رئيس مجلس الأمة التركي الكبير- دولة قطر باحتفالها باليوم الوطني، مشيراً إلى أن علاقات بلاده القوية مع دولة قطر راسخة، وظهر ثباتها خلال الأزمات، مؤكداً مواصلتها التطور دائماً، وأضاف: «واجه البلدان حتى اليوم الكثير من المشاكل، ونجحا في التغلب عليها من خلال التعاون».

وتابع قائلاً: «الإخوة القطريون يعرفون من وقف معهم في السراء والضراء»، مؤكداً أن زخم تطور العلاقات بين البلدين سيتواصل وعلى كل الأصعدة السياسية والاقتصادية، إضافة إلى الدفاع، وأوضح أن تركيا هي الصديق الأمين والحقيقي لدولة قطر.;
