A Device that monitors Coronavirus patients in crowded rooms within 15 minutes

British researchers have invented a new device that can monitor and detect people infected with the Coronavirus in a crowded room within 15 minutes.

The developer, RoboScientific, stated that the sensor is considered high-accuracy, and is installed in the ceiling, and takes at least 15 minutes to raise an alert for the presence of a person infected with the Coronavirus, according to the New York Post.

The company added that the coronavirus sensor is slightly larger than a fire alarm.

As for how it works, the company explained that the device’s technology depends on monitoring changes in air molecules as a result of the smell of the skin or the breath of people infected with the virus.

The sensor takes samples from the room for a period of 15 to 30 minutes to search for smells that the human nose cannot smell, and then sends an alert with the results.

Early studies from researchers at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Durham University in the UK tested the device using body odor samples using stockings worn by infected and uninfected people.

The scientists found that the device was able to correctly detect the virus from samples with an accuracy rate between 98 and 100 percent.

Scientists said the technology could also have important safety benefits for travel and crowded events. The device will allow the detection of an infected person inside a room or plane and thus faster and more targeted testing, which will save money and time and reduce transmission of infection.

اختبرت الدراسات المبكرة من الباحثين في كلية لندن للصحة والطب الاستوائي وجامعة دورهام في المملكة المتحدة الجهاز باستخدام عينات من رائحة الجسم مستخدمين الجوارب التي يرتديها الأشخاص المصابون وغير المصابين.

ووجد العلماء أن الجهاز تمكن من الكشف بشكل صحيح عن الفيروس من العينات بمعدل دقة يتراوح بين 98 و 100 بالمئة.
