Mowasalat organises health & safety event

Mowasalat (Karwa) organised its Annual Health & Safety event at staff accommodation in Karwa City on November 23 and 24, with this year slogan as “#CareForYourLife”. The event included a number of medical activities organized by Mowasalat Medical Center including free basic health checkup and vision screening, as well as a number of short awareness programs and presentations on health and safety, presented by a number of specialist physicians.

Mowasalat Health, safety, Security and Environment Department collaborated with stakeholders to present interactive programs and civil defense live demonstrations that added value stressing on self-awareness and ensuring to keep safe workplace, home, environment and lives.

Basic day-to-day health & fitness exercises were presented to be relieved of stress, maintain good vision, relief from stiffness & back ailments, postures while driving, and other useful tips.

The activities also included awareness lectures and presentations from Karwa Driving School on the hazardous effects of driver distraction resulting from using audiovisual and mobile devices, eating and drinking, keeping objects that may fall and jam the brakes, during driving, which can become fatal and endanger safety of lives.

The event witnessed special participation from the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA) represented by Jaber Al Marri, Head of Occupational Safety and Health Department, where he presented the most recent updated and information on occupational safety and health, also distributed safety booklets to enhance safety awareness of Mowasalat employees. The team of MADLSA commended these annual initiatives and awareness programs provided by Mowasalat to its employees, in regards of their substantial importance in spreading the culture of health and safety.

Our driver employees as per their shift hours attended the sessions, which was given two days. They showed much enthusiasm participating and engaged themselves with the trainer and coach. The employees expressed their happiness and thanked the management and the organizers, as they felt that such engagement activities not only educate them but also keep them motivated and happy in their job.

This event is part of Mowasalat’s annual planned activities to spread awareness for general health and safety on all levels, in addition to help the Company’s employees and drivers to deliver their duties in a healthy and safe environment fulfilling their responsibility to customers and company.

نظمت شركة مواصلات (كروة) فعاليتها السنوية الخاصة بالصحة والسلامة تحت شعار «#اهتم بصحتك»، وذلك بمقر سكن الموظفين في مدينة كروة. وشمل الحدث العديد من الأنشطة الطبية المقدمة من قبل مركز مواصلات الطبي، من بينها الفحوصات الطبية الأساسية، وفحص النظر، بالإضافة إلى عدد من البرامج والندوات القصيرة المختصة بأمور الصحة والسلامة التي قدّمها عدد من الأطباء المتخصصين.

كما قامت إدارة الصحة والسلامة والأمن والبيئة التابعة لشركة مواصلات (كروة) بالتنسيق مع عدد من المؤسسات المعنية بتقديم برامج تفاعلية وعروض حية للدفاع المدني، لتأكيد السلامة أثناء الوجود في العمل وخارج العمل، وسلامة البيئة المحيطة وسلامة الأرواح. حيث قُدّمت تمارين الصحة واللياقة البدنية الأساسية التي تساعد على الحد من التوتر، والحفاظ على الرؤية الجيدة، والتخلص من تقلصات الظهر وآلامه، والتعرف على الأوضاع الصحية السليمة للجلوس أثناء القيادة وغيرها من الأنشطة. وشملت الأنشطة عروض توعوية مقدمة من مدرسة كروة لقيادة السيارات حول خطورة أثر تشتيت انتباه سائق المركبة أثناء القيادة عند استخدام الأجهزة السمعية والبصرية وأجهزة الاتصال المحمولة أو الأطعمة والمشروبات، وغيرها من الأشياء التي قد يتسبب سقوطها على أرضية المركبة في إعاقة استخدام المكابح أثناء القيادة؛ مما قد يؤدي إلى وقوع حوادث.

التنمية

كما شهد الحدث مشاركة وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية ممثلة بالسيد جابر علي الجذنة المري رئيس قسم السلامة والصحة المهنية، حيث قدّم محاضرة عن السلامة والصحة المهنية عرض من خلالها أحدث المعلومات والتشريعات والنصائح عن السلامة والصحة المهنية، كما وُزّعت بعض الكتيبات الخاصة بالسلامة لرفع مستوى ثقافة العاملين في شركة مواصلات بأهمية السلامة. وأشادت إدارة تفتيش العمل بوزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية بهذه المبادرات والبرامج التوعوية التي تقدّمها شركة مواصلات (كروة) سنوياً لموظفيها؛ لما لها من أهمية بالغة في نشر ثقافة الصحة والسلامة.

وحرص موظّفو الشركة وسائقوها -حسب مناوبات أعمالهم- على حضور الفعاليات والأنشطة التي أُقيمت على مدار يومين اثنين، حيث شاركوا بإيجابية وتفاعلوا مع المحاضرات والتدريبات، وأشادوا بالحدث وأعربوا عن تقديرهم لإدارة الشركة واللجنة المنظمة عن الأنشطة الإيجابية والنتائج الفعّالة لهذا الحدث.;
