MoPH reports 58 new confirmed cases of coronavirus in Qatar
وزارة الصحة العامة تسجل 58 حالة إصابة مؤكدة جديدة بفيروس كورونا في قطر
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced Friday 58 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) in Qatar.
This makes the total number of reported Covid-19 cases in the country 320.
Fifty-four of the new cases are related to the cases identified earlier among expatriate workers and most of these cases have already been in quarantine.
The other four cases are related to travel contacts.
In a statement yesterday, the ministry said all new cases are receiving suitable care under complete isolation and they all are in stable health condition, adding it is expanding the scope of testing for Covid-19 to trace all possible contacts of infected patients.
The decisions announced by the Government Communications Office on Thursday are complementary to the efforts and precautionary measures taken by Qatar to prevent and limit the spread of coronavirus, as the number of cases is expected to increase in the next few days.
The health ministry recommended the following simple, yet effective practices to be safe from coronavirus:
- -Wash hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
- -Cover mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing with your sleeve or tissue, and dispose of used tissues in a covered bin.
- -Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with hands before washing them, especially when outside your home.
- -Avoid close contact with other people, especially anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness and maintain at least one metre distance between yourself and other people.
The Ministry of Public Health urged the public to avoid social gatherings of more than 50 people and to limit family gatherings as much as possible.
Members of the public are also advised to avoid handshakes and cheek-kissing when greeting each other.
Instead, people can verbally greet one another or make greeting gestures from distance as a way of helping prevent the spread of the virus.
أعلنت وزارة الصحة العامة، اليوم، عن تسجيل 58 حالة إصابة مؤكدة جديدة بفيروس كورونا 2019 (كوفيد-19) في دولة قطر ترتبط 54 حالة من الحالات الجديدة بالحالات التي تم اكتشافها سابقا بين العمالة الوافدة أغلبيتهم ممن هم في الحجر الصحي مع عدد 4 حالات انتقلت إليها العدوى نتيجة للاختلاط بمسافرين.
وذكرت وزارة الصحة العامة، في بيان لها، أنه تم إدخال الحالات المصابة الجديدة إلى العزل الصحي التام، وهم يتمتعون بصحة جيدة جدا ويتلقون الرعاية الطبية اللازمة، مشيرة إلى أنه تم توسيع دائرة الفحص لمتابعة الحالات المحتملة التي اختلطت بها الحالات المصابة.
وقد جاءت القرارات التي أعلن عنها مكتب الاتصال الحكومي يوم أمس استكمالا للجهود والإجراءات الاحترازية التي تتخذها دولة قطر للوقاية والحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19)، حيث من المتوقع أن تزيد عدد الحالات في الأيام القليلة المقبلة.
وأوصت وزارة الصحة العامة باتباع خطوات بسيطة ولكنها فعالة لحماية نفسك والآخرين من احتمال الإصابة بفيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19) وهي:
1- غسل اليدين بشكل متكرر بالماء والصابون لمدة 20 ثانية على الأقل أو استخدم معقم كحولي لليدين.
2- تغطية الفم والأنف بالأكمام أو بمنديل ورقي عندما السعال أو العطس، ورمي المنديل المستعمل في صندوق قمامة له غطاء.
3- تجنب ملامسة العينين والأنف والفم باليدين قبل غسلهما، خاصة عندما يكون الشخص خارج المنزل.
4- تجنب القرب والاختلاط مع الناس بشكل عام وبالذات بأي شخص تظهر عليه أعراض مرض الجهاز التنفسي وترك مسافة متر واحد على الأقل من الآخرين.
كما أوصت وزارة الصحة العامة أيضا بالتقليل من المناسبات الاجتماعية ذات التجمعات التي تفوق 50 شخصا والاقتصار على التجمعات العائلية في أضيق الحدود، ومن الأهمية التنويه بالامتناع عن المصافحة أو التقبيل عند التحية، ومن الأفضل التحية بالسلام عن بعد أو الايماء عوضاً عن ذلك كوسيلة للحد من انتشار الفيروس.
