Eliyan and Gamil qualify for the ‘Get in The Ring’ finals in Portugal

DOHA: Mohammed Eliyan has bagged the first place while Abdulla Gamil secured second place in the local edition of the “Get In The Ring” competition, which qualified them to the finals taking place in Portugal, in May 2018.

Eliyan was able to overcome competitors with his project “Savest”. His project is a smart safety vest designed for construction workers working in various sectors by monitoring their vital signs through a chip implanted in their vests. For Gamil, his project “Mino” which reduces time for ordering food through a mobile app without the need for waitresses at dine-in restaurants, secured him the second post in the competition.

On this occasion, Reem Al-Suwaidi, General Manager of Bedaya Center, said, “Year after year, entrepreneurs surprise us with their creative ideas and innovative projects which allow them to compete against each other’s in one of the most important global competitions designed and dedicated for them.”

“Get in The Ring” has become one of the leading competition aimed at supporting startup projects and entrepreneurs around the world. It offers a unique platform for creating a bridge between innovative minds and capitalists, financier, supporting companies, and the expertise and talent needed to accelerate their growth and transform their models into existing projects” she continued.

“Today, we celebrate the achievement of Mohammed Eliyan and Abdulla Gamil for bagging the first and second places in the Qatar chapter of the competition and their subsequent qualification to the global competition in Portugal next month. The local edition of the “Get in The Ring” tournament witnessed great competition at all levels. It is worth mentioning that most of the participants explored their ideas according to the needs of the local community,” she added.

واستطاع عليان أن يتفوق على منافسيه من خلال طرحه لمشروع «سافست SaVest» سترة الأمان الذكية، والمخصصة للعمال العاملين في جميع أنواع المشاريع، لتوفر لهم الحماية من خلال مراقبة مؤشراتهم الحيوية خلال العمل. كما قدم عبد الله جميل فكرة تطبيق الجوال «مينو Mino»، التي تساعد مرتادي المطاعم من الطلب بكل سهولة ويسر فور وصولهم إلى المطعم دون الحاجة لانتظار النادل، كما ستتوفر لديهم خاصية دفع الحساب من خلال التطبيق من غير الحاجة لطلب الفاتورة.

في هذه المناسبة قالت ريم السويدي، مدير عام مركز بداية لريادة الأعمال والتطوير المهني: «يفاجئنا رواد الأعمال عاماً بعد عام بأفكارهم المبتكرة ومشاريعهم الخلّاقة، والتي يتنافسون من خلالها في واحدة من أهم البطولات المخصصة لهم على مستوى العالم، حيث أصبحت «جت إن ذا رينج» من أهم البطولات الداعمة للأعمال الناشئة ورواد الأعمال في العالم، والتي تعنى بخلق الرابط بين هذه الفئة وأصحاب رأس المال، والشركات الداعمة، والخبرات والمواهب اللازمة لتسريع نموهم، وتحويل نماذجهم إلى مشاريع قائمة».
