Qatar is leading the shift towards electric vehicles in the region

Doha: “PR Newswire ” site published a report in which it talked about the growth in demand for electric vehicles during the recent period, revealing that the global demand for this type of cars increased during the year 2020 by up to 75% compared to the situation in the previous year, referring to an International interest increase in renewable energies and cars powered by environmentally friendly electric energy, stressing that Qatar is among the leading countries in the process of transformation towards electric vehicles, especially in the Gulf and Middle East regions through its rapid pace of developing its transport fleet, and enhancing it with a large number of cars and electric buses, which will be relied upon to transport the fans expected to be in Doha during the period in which it will host the FIFA World Cup, less than two years from now.

Before mid-2022, with the launch of a factory for the production of electric buses in Doha during the next phase, stressing that undertaking such deals only reflects the great Qatari focus on developing its transport sector and enhancing it with the latest technologies used at the international level, expecting Qatar to continue working in this manner during the next stage, which may witness submitting many orders, with the possibility of entering it in investments affecting companies active in the manufacture of environmentally friendly electric cars, which are expected to be among the most prominent global transportation means in the next few years.

وكشف التقرير بأنه وبعيدا عن الصفقة الضخمة التي ربطت بين جهاز قطر للاستثمار وشركة فولسفاجن الألمانية لصناعة السيارات، والرامية إلى استيراد عدد كبير من السيارات الكهربائية في الفترة المقبلة لاستغلالها في تنظيم مونديال 2022 وايصال مشجعي المنتخبات إلى الملاعب والفنادق وغيرها من المناطق السياحية الأخرى، فإن ذات الجهة قامت مؤخرا بإبرام عقد آخر في ذات المسار مع شركة ” Xpeng ” الصينية الناشطة في قطاع انتاج المركبات الكهربائية، التي جمعت من جهاز قطر للاستثمار وإحدى الجهات الأخرى الممثلة لاحدى العواصم القريبة من الدوحة ما قيمته 400 مليون دولار، على أن تسلم طلبيات قطر من المركبات الكهربائية قبل منتصف 2022 مع إطلاق مصنع لإنتاج الحافلات الكهربائية في الدوحة خلال المرحلة المقبلة، مشددا على أن الإقدام على مثل هذه الصفقات لا يعكس سوى التركيز القطري الكبير على تنمية قطاع النقل لديها وتعزيزه بأحدث التقنيات المستعملة على المستوى الدولي، متوقعا مواصلة قطر العمل على هذا المنوال خلال المرحلة المقبلة، التي قد تشهد تقديمها للعديد من الطلبيات، مع إمكانية دخولها في استثمارات تمس الشركات الناشطة في مجال تصنيع السيارات الكهربائية الصديقة للبيئة، التي من المنتظر بأن تكون من بين أبرز وسائل النقل العالمية في السنوات القليلة المقبلة.
