Doha: Qatar witnessed growth in the arrival of visitors which has boosted the tourism sector. As many as 97,854 visitors arrived in April 2022, compared to just 13,312 in the same month last year showing a rise of 635 percent according to the latest report by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA).
Of the total arrivals, 62,470 visitors came by flights. The visitors who came via sea totalled to 8,229, while 27,155 arrived via land, the report said.
Qatar has attracted visitors from across the regions with travellers from Asia and Oceania accounted for highest arrivals during April.
According to the report, 32 percent visitors were from Asian countries that is 30, 966 in April this year compared to 7,780 in the same month in the previous year registering a growth of 298 percent. Visitor arrivals measure non-residents travelling to Qatar on a short-term basis for all purposes.
It includes arrivals at borders under different 15 visa classes, including all businesses and leisure visa types excluding work visas.
Arrivals from the Gulf region constituted 31 percent in the total arrivals.
Almost 8,908 visitors from other Arab countries arrived in Qatar compared to 864 in April 2021.
The visitors from the European countries were 20,019 in April 2022 compared to 1,472 in same period last year, denoting a rise of 1,260 percent on year-on-year basis.

The visitors from the Americas stood at 6,007 in April 2022 against 283 in same period last year, showing an increase on yearly basis.
From other African countries the number of visitors stood at 1,696 in April of this year.
According to MoPH, since the start of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program, 6,793,081 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered.
Also 1,558,140 booster doses administered, and 89.4 percent of the total population is now fully vaccinated with two doses.

ووفقاً للتقرير، كان الـ 32 ٪ من الزوار من دول آسيوية أي 30،966 في أبريل من هذا العام مقارنة بـ 7780 في نفس الشهر من العام السابق مسجلين نمواً بنسبة 298 ٪. ويتم قياس وصول الزوار غير المقيمين المسافرين إلى قطر على أساس قصير الأجل لجميع الأغراض. وذلك يشمل الوصول إلى الحدود بموجب فئات مختلفة من 15 تأشيرة، بما في ذلك جميع أنواع تأشيرات الأعمال والترفيه باستثناء تأشيرات العمل.
وشكل الوافدون من منطقة الخليج 31٪ من إجمالي الوافدين.
وبلغ عدد المسافرين 8،908 زائر من الدول العربية الأخرى إلى قطر مقارنة بـ 864 في أبريل 2021.
وبلغ عدد الزائرين من الدول الأوروبية 20،019 زائراً في أبريل 2022 مقارنة بـ 1،472 زائراً في نفس الفترة من العام الماض ، مما يشير إلى ارتفاع بنسبة 1،260٪ على أساس سنوي.
وبلغ عدد الزوار من الأمريكتين 6،007 في أبريل 2022 مقابل 283 في نفس الفترة من العام الماضي، مما يدل على زيادة على أساس سنوي.
وبلغ عدد الزائرين من الدول الأفريقية الأخرى 1،696 في أبريل من هذا العام.
ووفقاً لوزارة الصحة العامة، تم إعطاء 6،793،081 جرعة لقاح كوفيد-19، منذ بدء البرنامج الوطني للتطعيم ضد فيروس كورونا.
كما تم إعطاء 1،558،140 جرعة معززة ، ويتم الآن تلقيح 89.4٪ من إجمالي السكان بشكل كامل بجرعتين.
