Ashghal: Streets Around General Directorate of Passports Building Completed

Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) announces the completion of construction works of the streets and infrastructure utilities lines serving MOIs General Directorate of Passports building in Wadi Al Banat Area on Al Tarfa Street, as part of the Road Improvement Works in the Northern Areas, Phase 4.

The works of this project are part of Ashghal’s efforts to improve the existing roads network and raise its efficiency, in addition to upgrading the services of the infrastructure utilities in different regions of the state to cope with the national economic development and social growth requirements in Qatar.

Project Engineer at Northern Areas Section in the Roads Projects Department in Ashghal Eng. Hamad Al Bader stated that the project aims at facilitating access to the new building of the General Directorate of Passports and providing connection to the surrounding streets such as Al Tarfa Street and Jasim bin Hamad Street in addition to providing infrastructure utilities services and road safety elements such as road signs and marks as well as dedicated pedestrians paths.

Eng. Al Bader also explained that the scope of works implemented within the project included the construction of streets with upgraded street lighting systems as well as the provision of foul sewer network lines and stormwater network lines.

It is worth mentioning that local products and local manufacturers were relied on while implementing the projects works. Materials and elements such as gabbro, street light columns and lamps, sewage pipes, rainwater drainage pipes, asphalt layers, precast manholes, concrete and steel, were locally supplied as local components constituted up to 85% of the project’s work, as part of Ashghals initiative to support local manufacturers and the Taheel initiative launched by Ashghal in 2017 in this regard.

الدوحة: أكملت هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال”، أعمال إنشاء الطرق والبنية التحتية حول مبنى الإدارة العامة للجوازات الجديد التابع لوزارة الداخلية في منطقة وادي البنات على شارع الطرفة، ضمن مشروع تحسين الطرق في منطقة الشمال – المرحلة الرابعة.

ويندرج هذا المشروع في سياق خطة الهيئة لتطوير شبكة الطرق القائمة ورفع كفاءتها، إلى جانب تحسين مرافق الخدمات الموجودة في مناطق مختلفة من الدولة بما يستجيب لمتطلبات النمو الاقتصادي والاجتماعي في قطر.

وأوضح المهندس حمد البدر، مهندس المشروع بقسم المناطق الشمالية، بإدارة مشروعات الطرق في “أشغال”، أن المشروع يهدف إلى تسهيل الوصول إلى مبنى الإدارة العامة للجوازات الجديد، وتوفير الربط إليه مع الطرق المحيطة به مثل شارع الطرفة وشارع جاسم بن حمد، إلى جانب توفير خدمات البنية التحتية وعناصر سلامة الطريق من إشارات وعلامات ومسارات مخصصة للمشاة.

وأشار المهندس البدر إلى أنه من ضمن الأعمال التي تم تنفيذها، إنشاء الطرق مع توفير أنظمة الإنارة والأرصفة وتركيب أعمدة للإنارة، إلى جانب تنفيذ أعمال البنية التحتية من شبكات الصرف الصحي وتصريف مياه الأمطار.

يذكر أنه تم الاعتماد على مواد ومصنعين محليين في تنفيذ أعمال المشروع، حيث تم توريد مواد وعناصر مثل الجابرو وأعمدة ومصابيح الإنارة وأنابيب الصرف الصحي وتصريف مياه الأمطار والاسفلت والمناهل مسبقة الصنع، بالإضافة إلى الخرسانة وحديد التسليح من المصانع المحلية القطرية. وقد وصلت نسبة المكون المحلي 85 بالمئة من أعمال المشروع، وذلك في سياق دعم هيئة الأشغال العامة للمصنعين المحليين ومبادرة “تأهيل” التي أطلقتها الهيئة عام 2017.
