Treasure Hunt in Furjan Al-Doha

A number of citizens confirmed that despite efforts to expand many roads and streets, traffic crisis continues so far, due to the increase in the population and vehicles. They called on the Public Works Authority “Ashghal” to speed up the implementation of its projects within residential neighborhoods, in order to mitigate the damage that occurred as a result of the significant slowdown in these projects.

In a survey for “Al-Sharq”, citizens called for thorough studies before implementing projects within the neighborhoods, so that concerned authorities are not surprised by the existence of obstacles that could cause the following:

• Prolong implementation.
• exhausting the residents of neighborhoods in the problems of narrow lanes.
• damage to cars due to the search for alternative routes to enter and exit their homes.

They have made a number of proposals that would alleviate this problem, including postponing unnecessary projects until 2023, urging the use of alternative transport other than cars, and improving public transport channels.

أكد عدد من المواطنين، انه رغم الجهود المبذولة في توسعة العديد من الطرق والشوارع، إلا ان الازمة المرورية ما زالت مستمرة حتى الآن، وذلك يرجع لازدياد عدد السكان والمركبات. مطالبين هيئة الاشغال العامة “أشغال”، بضرورة تسريع وتيرة تنفيذ مشاريعها داخل الأحياء السكنية، للتخفيف من وطأة الضرر الواقع عليهم، نتيجة البطء الكبير الذي تشهده هذه المشاريع.

ودعا المواطنون في استطلاع لـ “الشرق” إلى القيام بالدراسات الوافية قبل تنفيذ المشاريع داخل الأحياء، حتى لا تفاجأ الجهات المعنية بوجود عوائق قد ينتج عنها ما يلي:

• إطالة أمد التنفيذ.
• اغراق سكان الأحياء في اشكاليات ضيق الممرات.
• ضرر للسيارات بسبب البحث عن طرقات بديلة للدخول والخروج من وإلى منازلهم.

وقد قدموا عددا من المقترحات التي من شأنها تخفيف هذه الاشكالية، ومنها تأجيل المشاريع غير الضرورية إلى عام 2023، والحث على استخدام وسائل مواصلات بديلة غير السيارات، وتحسين قنوات النقل العام.
