Ashghal: A new pedestrian and bicycle path on the 4th Ring Road during Q3 of this year

Doha: The Public Works Authority “Ashghal” has unveiled that the completion of the construction works of the joint pedestrian and bicycle lane, which extends for a length of 4.5 km on the Fourth Ring Road, and the landscaping and beautification works will be during the third quarter of this year.

This came in response to the complaint published by Al-Raya about the trucks causing inconvenience to the residents of Al-Hilal, as it confirmed that the work team supervising the development of the Fourth Ring Road periodically monitors the movement of trucks throughout the day.

In addition to training drivers and guiding them to abide by the instructions and driving rules, in order to ensure traffic safety in the vicinity of the projects.

The movement of heavy vehicles is not limited to the development of the Fourth Ring Road, especially with the presence of a number of public and private sector projects in the region. “Ashghal” explained.

It indicated that it is keen to develop and establish an integrated network of roads as part of the broader plan that aims to achieve a developed highway network linking all regions in the country to each other, and the development of the Fourth Ring Road is considered an important link, as it is integrated with roads developed such as Rawdat Al-Khail Street, Fifth Ring Road, Mesaimeer Intersection and Najma Street to serve densely populated areas such as the Old Airport and Nuaija.

The Fourth Ring Road development project faced great challenges, as it is located in the heart of Doha to connect the traffic coming from both Airport Street and Doha Expressway, passing through major streets such as Najma Street and Rawdat Al-Khail Street, where there is a large traffic density and many vital and economic facilities.

The development work of the Fourth Ring Road began during the fourth quarter of 2020, and the project has taken about 5 million working hours without any injuries so far, due to the health and safety measures that it has adopted.

الدوحة: كشفتْ هيئةُ الأشغالِ العامة «أشغال» عن الانتهاءِ من الأعمال الإنشائيَّة للمسار المُشترك للمُشاة والدرَّاجات الهوائية الذي يمتدُّ على طول 4.5 كم على الطريق الدائري الرابع وأعمال التَّشجير والتجميل خلال الربع الثالث من العام الحالي. جاء ذلك في ردِّها على الشكوى التي نشرتها الراية حولَ تسبَّب الشاحنات في إزعاج سكان الهلال، حيث أكدت أن فريق العمل المشرف على مشروع تطوير الطريق الدائري الرابع يقومُ بمُراقبة دوريَّة لحركة الشاحنات على مدار اليوم، بالإضافة إلى تدريب السائقين وتوجيههم بالتقيَّد بالتعليمات وقواعد القيادة حرصًا على السلامة المروريَّة في محيط المشاريع.

وأوضحت أنَّ حركة المركبات الثقيلة لا تقتصرُ على أعمال تطوير الطريق الدائري الرابع فقط، لا سيما مع وجود عددٍ من المشاريع التابعة للقطاعَين العام والخاص في المنطقة.

وأشارت إلى أنَّها حريصة على تطوير وإنشاء شبكة مُتكاملة من الطرق كجزء من الخُطة الأشمل التي تهدف لتحقيق شبكة طرق سريعة متطوِّرة تربط جميعَ المناطق في البلاد ببعضِها، ويعتبرُ تطويرُ الطريق الدائري الرابع حلقةَ وصلٍ مهمة، ويتكامل مع طرق تمَّ تطويرُها مثل شارع روضة الخيل والطريق الدائري الخامس وتقاطع مسيمير وشارع نجمة لخدمة مناطق ذات كثافة سكانيَّة كبيرة مثل المطار العتيق ونعيجة.

وقد واجه مشروع تطوير الطريق الدائري الرابع تحديات كبيرة، حيث يقع في قلب الدوحة ليصل بين الحركة المروريَّة القادمة من كل من شارع المطار وطريق الدوحة السريع مرورًا بشوارع رئيسية مثل شارع نجمة، وشارع روضة الخيل، حيث الكثافة المرورية الكبيرة والعديد من المرافق الحيوية والاقتصادية، وقد ابتدأت أعمال تطوير الطريق الدائري الرابع خلال الربع الرابع من عام 2020، وقد استغرقَ المشروع نحو 5 ملايين ساعة عمل بدون إصابة حتى الآن، نظرًا لإجراءات الصحة والسلامة التي تتبنَّاها.
