Ministry of Environment and Climate Change marks Earth Hour
وزارة البيئة والتغير المناخي تحتفل بساعة الأرض

Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Chang participated yesterday in the “Countries of the World effectively celebrating Earth Hour”, by turning off the lights in the main building of the Ministry in the Corniche (Burj Al-Udeid) for an hour, in addition to all the buildings affiliated with the Ministry.
The Earth Hour celebration aims to consolidate the idea of energy savings, raise awareness of climate change and support the positive participation of society in protecting the environment by turning off unnecessary lights and electrical appliances for an hour, in order to unite efforts to protect the environment and reduce the effects of climate change.

الدوحة: شاركت وزارة البيئة والتغير المناخي البارحة “دول العالم بفعالية الاحتفال بساعة الأرض”، وذلك بإطفاء الانوار بمبنى الوزارة الرئيسي بالكورنيش (برج العديد) لمدة ساعة، بالإضافة لجميع المباني التابعة للوزارة.
ويهدف الاحتفال بساعة الأرض إلى ترسيخ فكرة التوفير من استهلاك الطاقة ورفع الوعي بظاهرة التغير المناخي ودعم المشاركة الإيجابية للمجتمع في حماية البيئة من خلال إطفاء الأضواء والأجهزة الكهربائية غير الضرورية لمدة ساعة، من أجل توحيد الجهود لأهمية حماية البيئة والحد من آثار التغير المناخي.
