Ooredoo confirms sponsorship of Palestinian Heritage Festival

Ooredoo has announced that it is to be the official sponsor of the Palestinian Heritage Festival.
The festival — being organised in conjunction with the Palestinian Qatari Friendship Association and the Palestine Embassy in Qatar — is to be held from April four to 13 at Cultural Village Katara, and aims to shine a spotlight on Palestinian culture and explore its history and roots, as well as celebrate the longstanding relationship between Palestine and Qatar.
The event will feature popular Palestinian folk shows including songs and debkah dances traditionally performed at weddings. There will also be displays of popular Palestinian fashion, traditional cuisine and heritage and fine art photography, as well as cultural lectures related to the history and heritage of the country and the sacred holy history of Al Qods.
Speaking of the event, Manar Khalifa Al Muraikhi – Director PR and Corporate Communications at Ooredoo – said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring this important event highlighting Palestinian history and culture and celebrating the friendship between our two countries. Supporting events that promote the preservation of regional culture is of paramount importance to us, and we’re proud to be working with Katara and the Palestinian Qatari Friendship Association to bring this event to life.”
أكدت «ooredoo»، أمس، أنها ستكون الراعي الرسمي لمهرجان فلسطين الثقافي، الذي سيقام خلال الفترة من 4 وحتى 13 أبريل 2019.
ويقام المهرجان بتنظيم من المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي «كتارا»، وسفارة فلسطين في قطر، وجمعية الصداقة الفلسطينية القطرية، ويهدف إلى إلقاء الضوء على جوانب من التراث الفلسطيني في إطار العلاقات الأخوية القائمة بين دولة قطر وفلسطين.
وسيتضمن المهرجان عروضاً فولكلورية من فلسطين، مثل الأغاني والأهازيج الشعبية، والدبكة التي يؤديها الناس في الأعراس وخلال المناسبات العامة. وستقام أيضاً عروض للأزياء الفلسطينية والمأكولات الشعبية وفن التصوير، كما ستنظم محاضرات ثقافية حول تاريخ وتراث فلسطين ومدينة القدس.
وحول هذه الرعاية، قالت منار خليفة المريخي، مديرة إدارة العلاقات العامة واتصالات الشركة في «ooredoo قطر»: «نحن سعداء برعايتنا لهذه الفعالية المهمة التي تلقي الضوء على تاريخ فلسطين وتراثها وثقافتها، بالإضافة إلى العلاقة المتينة القائمة بين البلدين، فتوفير الرعاية للفعاليات التي تسهم في الحفاظ على التراث في المنطقة، يعتبر ذا أهمية كبيرة بالنسبة لنا، لذا يسرنا العمل مع إدارة كتارا ومع جمعية الصداقة القطرية الفلسطينية لإقامة هذه الفعالية في دولة قطر».
