Washington: The Pentagon have announced that Washington is not considering installing a no-fly zone in Ukrainian airspace.
Pentagon Press Secretary John F. Kirby said in a statement that the Pentagon is studying options for implementing a mechanism to avoid military accidents with Russia, stressing the importance of this step now that Ukraine’s airspace is contested.
There are currently no indications that Russia is interested in exploring those options, he explained.
On the Pentagon’s assessment of the Russian military forces, spokesman Kirby said that it is too early to reach comprehensive conclusions about the Russian military, stressing that Russian President Vladimir Putin has significant combat power, as he has not moved all of it into Ukraine.
It should be noted that the Pentagon announced that it is monitoring and evaluating the orders of the Russian President regarding the status of strategic weapons on alert.

وقال السيد جون كيربي المتحدث الرسمي لوزارة الدفاع الأمريكية، في مؤتمر صحفي: إن البنتاغون تدرس خيارات لتطبيق آلية لتجنب وقوع حوادث عسكرية مع روسيا، مشدداً على أهمية هذه الخطوة بعد أن أصبح المجال الجوي الأوكراني محل نزاع.
وأوضح أنه ليس هناك مؤشرات في الوقت الحالي على أن روسيا مهتمة باستكشاف تلك الخيارات.
وحول تقييم البنتاغون للقوات العسكرية الروسية، قال المتحدث كيربي إنه من السابق لأوانه الوصول إلى استنتاجات شاملة حول الجيش الروسي الآن، مؤكداً على أن الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين لديه قوة قتالية كبيرة تحت تصرفه، حيث أنه لم ينقل كل قواته إلى أوكرانيا.
تجدر الإشارة إلى أن /البنتاغون/ قد أعلن أنه يراقب ويقيم أوامر الرئيس الروسي بشأن وضع السلاح الاستراتيجي بحالة تأهب.
