Qatar University Accepts 1000 Students for Spring 2024 Semester

Doha: Qatar University (QU) announced the acceptance of approximately 1000 male and female students for the undergraduate program for the Spring 2024 semester. Qataris constitute 70% of the total number of accepted students.

On this occasion, Vice President for Student Affairs at Qatar University Dr. Eiman Mustafawi explained that admission to QU is based on competition among applicants. Meeting the minimum requirements in secondary education does not guarantee admission to a college. Students are admitted each semester based on each college’s capacity.

She noted that students who did not secure admission for the Spring 2024 semester can reapply for the subsequent Fall 2024 semester.

Dr. Mustafawi emphasized the university’s continuous support for its students, encouraging active participation in student life and the utilization of academic resources to enhance their capabilities, support their excellence, and contribute to their intellectual and cultural development, fostering their educational experience and personal growth.

Regarding the electronic orientation program, Director of Admissions Prof. Lolwa Al Rabeei said that the orientation program for transfer students will take place on 10 January, while for new students, it will occur on 14 January for all colleges.

Al Rabeei highlighted that the orientation program aims to provide new students with university information, policies, and remote academic services, stressing that completing the program is mandatory for all students to enroll. Students failing to finish the orientation program won’t be able to register for courses or attend lectures in the Spring 2024 semester, leading to the cancellation of their admission and requiring them to reapply in a subsequent semester.

Classes for the Spring 2024 semester will commence on 21 January 2024, with the add/drop period ending on 25 January 2024.

QU also announced scholarship decisions, including awards for excellence, children of GCC nationals with Qatari secondary certificates, and children of QU staff, for new and enrolled students in the Spring 2024 semester. The announcement for outstanding performance scholarships for enrolled students will be on 21 January 2024.

الدوحة: أعلنت جامعة قطر عن قبول حوالي 1000 طالب وطالبة لمرحلة البكالوريوس للفصل الدراسي /ربيع 2024/، بينهم 70 بالمئة من القطريين.

ولفتت الدكتورة إيمان مصطفوي، نائب رئيس جامعة قطر لشؤون الطلاب، إلى أنه بإمكان الطلبة الذين لم يحصلوا على فرصة للقبول في الفصل الدراسي ربيع 2024، أن يتقدموا بطلب القبول للفصل الدراسي خريف 2024.

وأوضحت أن القبول في جامعة قطر يعتمد على مبدأ المنافسة بين المتقدمين، وأن تحقيق الحد الأدنى من متطلبات الدراسة في الشهادة الثانوية لا يعني بالضرورة قبول الطالب في الكلية، وإنما يتم قبول الطلبة في كل فصل دراسي وفق السعة الاستيعابية لكل كلية على حدة.

وأكدت على حرص جامعة قطر المستمر على دعم وتمكين طلابها، وحثهم على المشاركة الفاعلة في الحياة الطلابية، والاستفادة من الإمكانيات والمصادر الجامعية التي تنمي قدراتهم وتدعم تفوقهم وتطورهم، وتساهم في توسيع آفاقهم العلمية والثقافية، وتعزيز تجربتهم التعليمية وتطويرهم الشخصي.

وحول البرنامج التعريفي قالت لولوة الربيعي مدير إدارة القبول بالجامعة: إن البرنامج التعريفي الإلكتروني للطلبة المحولين سيعقد بتاريخ 10 يناير المقبل، في حين سيعقد للطلبة المستجدين يوم 14 يناير ولجميع الكليات.

وأشارت إلى أن البرنامج التعريفي يهدف إلى توفير الوقت والجهد على الطلبة حديثي الالتحاق بالجامعة، وتعريفهم بالخدمات والسياسات الجامعية عن بعد، منبهة أن حضور واجتياز البرنامج التعريفي يعد إلزاميا على جميع الطلبة من أجل استكمال إجراءات القبول.

وقالت: إن الالتحاق بالبرنامج التعريفي شرط أساسي لتمكين الطلبة من التسجيل في المقررات الدراسية وحضور المحاضرات في الفصل الدراسي ربيع 2024، مضيفة أن عدم حضور هذا البرنامج يترتب عليه إلغاء قبول الطلبة، والذي يستدعي التقدم للقبول من جديد في فصل لاحق.

ومن المقرر أن تنطلق الدراسة بالفصل الدراسي ربيع 2024 في 21 يناير المقبل، في حين تنتهي فترة الحذف والإضافة في 25 من الشهر ذاته.

يشار إلى أن البرنامج التعريفي الإلكتروني هو عبارة عن منصة إلكترونية تتضمن العديد من الفيديوهات والعروض للتعريف بأبرز وأهم المعلومات الجامعية.

في سياق متصل، أعلنت جامعة قطر عن قرارات المنح الدراسية، التي تشمل منح القبول للتفوق، ومنح أبناء مجلس التعاون الخليجي الحاصلين على ثانوية قطرية، ومنحة أبناء العاملين في جامعة قطر، وذلك للطلبة المستجدين والمقيدين لفصل ربيع 2024، بينما سيتم الإعلان عن قرارات منح الأداء المتميز للطلبة المقيدين بالجامعة يوم 21 يناير 2024.
