MoI urges expatriate workers to respect customs and traditions of Qatar

Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has urged expatriate workers to adhere to the laws and to respect the customs and traditions. MoI officials in a webinar told companies that employees should wear clothes that are not against moral values in Qatar.
“The expatriate when he comes to Qatar should present the highest and noblest morals, as he is the representative and ambassador of his country. He should convey a good and bright image of his country,” said Lt Col Ali Falah Al Marri officer from the Ministry of Interior.
Speaking in a webinar organized by the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Interior in association with Al Rayyan Security Department titled “Crime Prevention is a Shared Responsibility”, he affirmed that “an expatriate has to adhere to the laws and should be aware of custom and traditions prevailing in the host country as the host country is committed to providing necessary protection to him.”
During the webinar, the officer spoke in detail about the role of police in crime prevention as well as the responsibilities of the companies in crime reduction.
He also talked about the most common complaints received by Al Rayyan Security Department which include theft, robbery, gambling, non-payment of dues, and drunkenness among others.
More than 100 people from HR, safety and security, finance managers, PROs, government relations officers and camp bosses of private companies and community leaders attended the event.
Al Marri urged companies to pay salaries on time to avoid delay, and in case of delay, workers can contact the Ministry of Labour. Companies also should protect the lives of the employees with safety procedures, food and appropriate accommodation.
Speaking more about the role of companies in preventing crimes, Al Marri indicated that companies must provide security in the worker’s accommodations and install surveillance cameras to avoid theft and attacks.
Also, in case of noticing any negative behavior or suspicious activity from any one of the employees, he urged them to inform the security authorities.

الدوحة: حثت وزارة الداخلية العمالة الوافدة على الالتزام بالقوانين واحترام العادات والتقاليد. حيث أخبر مسؤولو وزارة الداخلية في ندوة عبر الإنترنت الشركات أنه يجب على الموظفين ارتداء ملابس لا تتعارض مع القيم الأخلاقية في قطر.
ويجب على الوافد عند قدومه أن يتحلّى بأسمى آداب المهنة وأنبلها، فهو ممثل وسفير لبلاده. حيث قال المقدم علي فلاح المري الضابط بوزارة الداخلية “على الوافد أن ينقل صورة جيدة ومشرقة عن بلاده”.
وفي حديثه في ندوة عبر الإنترنت نظمتها إدارة العلاقات العامة بوزارة الداخلية بالتعاون مع إدارة أمن الريان بعنوان “منع الجريمة هي مسؤولية مشتركة”، أكد أن “على الوافد يجب أن يلتزم بالقوانين ويجب أن يكون على علم بالعادات والتقاليد السائدة في البلد المضيف وبالتالي يلتزم البلد المضيف بتوفير الحماية اللازمة له “.
وتحدث الضابط، خلال الندوة عبر الإنترنت، بالتفصيل عن دور الشرطة في منع الجريمة بالإضافة إلى مسؤوليات الشركات في الحد من الجريمة.
كما تحدث عن أكثر الشكاوى التي يتلقاها قسم أمن الريان والتي تشمل السرقة والنهب والقمار وعدم دفع المستحقات والثمالة وغيرها.
وحضر الفعالية أكثر من 100 شخص من الموارد البشرية والسلامة والأمن ومديري الشؤون المالية ومسؤولي العلاقات العامة ومسؤولي العلاقات الحكومية ومشرفي المخيمات في الشركات الخاصة وقادة المجتمع.
وحث المقدم علي فلاح المري الشركات على دفع الرواتب في موعدها لتجنب التأخير، وفي حالة التأخير يمكن للعمال الاتصال بوزارة العمل. حيث يجب على الشركات أيضاً حماية حياة الموظفين بإجراءات السلامة وتوفير الطعام والإقامة المناسبة.
وفي حديثه أكثر عن دور الشركات في منع الجرائم، أشار المقدم علي فلاح المري إلى أنه يتعين على الشركات توفير الأمن في سكن العمال وتركيب كاميرات مراقبة لتجنب السرقات والاعتداءات.
وفي حالة ملاحظة أي سلوك سلبي أو نشاط مشبوه من أحد الموظفين، حثهم المقدم علي فلاح المري على إبلاغ الجهات الأمنية.
