Ashghal opens Al Oyoun Street to traffic

Doha: Ashghal, in coordination with the Traffic Department, opened the Al Oyoun Street to traffic to ensure a direct connection between Al Shamal Road and Thani Bi Jassim.
The street will provide alternative access to Al Gharrafa, creating improved access to the nearby commercial centres and stores such as Souq Al Gharrafa that will alleviate traffic pressure on Al Shamal Road.
Ashghal also built a new signal junction to make easy access for traffic coming from Al Hateem St, Al Gharrafa Rd, Izghawa and Gharrafat Al Rayyan towards Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor, bypassing Al Shamal Road.
Al Oyoun Street stretches for 1.3km and comprises two lanes in each direction to accommodate 4,388 vehicles per hour along with new service roads to facilitate access to road users.
Al Oyoun Street is integrated with New Al Hateem Street built by Ashghal to provide an alternative route rather than Al Shamal Road between Izghawa and Al Gharrafa towards Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor and Umm Lekhba Interchange.
