China’s Digital Economy Reaches $ 6.07 Trillion in 2020

Beijing: China’s digital economy grew to 39.2 trillion yuan (about 6.07 trillion US dollars) in 2020, accounting for 38.6% of the country’s total GDP and up 9.7% year-on-year, according to a report.
The report on the development of the internet in China was released by the Chinese Academy of Cyberspace Studies at the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, which opened Sunday in Wuzhen.
In 2020, the volume of e-commerce transactions recorded in China reached 37.21 trillion yuan, up 4.5% from 2019, while the operating income of the e-commerce service sector reached 5.45 trillion yuan, an increase of 21.9% year on year, according to the report.
The digital economy has become a key option for countries around the world seeking to hedge against the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and to speed up economic and social transformation, said a report on global internet development concurrently released on Sunday, adding that new information infrastructure has gradually become a new driving force for global economic growth, according to China’s (Xinhua) News Agency.
In the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), China devoted a special chapter to building a digital China, setting the goal of increasing the percentage of value added of basic industries in the digital economy in GDP from 7.8% in 2019 to 10% in the coming years.
Southwest China’s Sichuan Province has set up 34 new infrastructure projects, such as 5G base stations and large data centers. In the eastern city of Wenzhou, investment in digital economy and smart manufacturing accounts for 60% of the total.
Experts spoke about digital manufacturing, represented by the information and communication industry, that it has become a pioneer in the development of the digital economy, and therefore it is necessary to accelerate new infrastructure facilities such as 5G technology and raise its capabilities to enable digital transformation.

بكين: نما الاقتصاد الرقمي في الصين إلى 39.2 تريليون يوان (حوالي 6.07 تريليون دولار أمريكي) خلال عام 2020 ، ممثلا 38.6 بالمائة من إجمالي الناتج المحلي بالبلاد وبزيادة 9.7 بالمائة على أساس سنوي.
وأفاد تقرير حول تطور الإنترنت في الصين، أصدرته الأكاديمية الصينية لدراسات الفضاء الإلكتروني خلال قمة “ووتشن لمؤتمر الانترنت العالمي” والتي انطلقت /أمس/، بأن حجم صفقات التجارة الالكترونية المسجلة في الصين بلغ 37.21 تريليون يوان خلال عام 2020، بزيادة 4.5 بالمائة عن عام 2019، بينما وصلت العائدات التشغيلية لقطاع خدمات التجارة الإلكترونية الى 5.45 تريليون يوان، بزيادة 21.9 بالمائة على أساس سنوي.
وذكر تقرير آخر حول تطور الإنترنت العالمي، أن الاقتصاد الرقمي أصبح خيارا رئيسيا للبلدان في العالم، للسعي الى التحوط من تأثيرات جائحة كورونا / كوفيد-19/ والمسارعة في التحول الاقتصادي والاجتماعي.. مضيفا أن البنية التحتية الجديدة للمعلومات أصبحت تدريجيا قوة دافعة للنمو الاقتصادي العالمي.
الجدير بالذكر أن الصين خصصت في الخطة الخمسية الـ14 (2021-2025) فصلا خاصا لبناء الصين الرقمية، وتحديد هدف زيادة نسبة القيمة المضافة للصناعات الأساسية في الاقتصاد الرقمي في الناتج المحلي الإجمالي من 7.8 بالمئة في عام 2019 إلى 10 بالمئة خلال الأعوام القادمة.
وأنشأت مقاطعة سيتشوان جنوب غربي الصين 34 مشروعا جديدا للبنية التحتية، مثل المحطات القاعدية لتقنية الجيل الخامس للاتصالات (5G) ومراكز البيانات الكبرى.. وفي مدينة ونتشو بشرقي البلاد، يمثل حجم الاستثمار في الاقتصاد الرقمي والتصنيع الذكي 60 بالمئة من الإجمالي.
وتحدث خبراء حول التصنيع الرقمي، ممثلا في صناعة المعلومات والاتصالات، أنه أصبح رائدا في تنمية الاقتصاد الرقمي، وعليه من الضروري تسريع مرافق البنية التحتية الجديدة مثل تقنية 5G ورفع قدراتها لتمكين التحول الرقمي .
