QA, QDF host Suhoor for local media

Doha: To mark the Holy Month of Ramadan, Qatar Airways and Qatar Duty Free (QDF) hosted a Suhoor for local Qatar-based media yesterday at the Mondrian Hotel at the hotel’s ‘Alf Leila w Leila’ Ramadan Tent.

The event was hosted by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker, and was attended by members of the airline’s senior leadership, as well as more than 100 representatives of the Doha-based media, to thank them for the key role the media plays in keeping the public informed of current events. The evening also provided guests the opportunity to experience Qatar’s rich cultural heritage and hospitality through traditional Ramadan celebrations.

During the event, the National Carrier of the State of Qatar previewed its thrilling new TVC campaign highlighting the airline’s sponsorship of the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019 taking place in France next month. The TVC, scheduled to launch globally next week, expresses the tremendous excitement generated in the run-up to the most thrilling moment yet in women’s sports, set to take place in France from June 7 – July 7, 2019.

Qatar Airways Senior Vice President Marketing and Corporate Communications, Salam Al Shawa, said: “We were delighted to welcome so many members of Doha’s vibrant media industry to join us at this special Suhoor in celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan. We were especially pleased to be able to provide a sneak preview of our new TVC highlighting our sponsorship of the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019. A multiple-award-winning airline, Qatar Airways was named ‘World’s Best Business Class’ by the 2018 World Airline Awards, managed by international air transport rating organisation Skytrax. It was also named ‘Best Business Class Seat’, ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’, and ‘World’s Best First Class Airline Lounge’.

Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of more than 250 aircraft via its hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA) to more than 160 destinations worldwide. The airline will add a number of new destinations to its extensive route network in 2019, including Izmir, Turkey; Rabat, Morocco; Malta; Davao, Philippines; Lisbon, Portugal; Mogadishu, Somalia and Langkawi, Malaysia.

وعرضت الناقلة الوطنية لدولة قطر، خلال الأمسية، إعلانها التلفزيوني الجديد الذي يبرز رعاية الناقلة بطولة كأس العالم للسيدات «2019 FIFA»، والتي ستقام في فرنسا من 7 يونيو حتى 7 يوليو 2019. وسوف تطلق الناقلة هذا الإعلان عالمياً الأسبوع المقبل. ويعبّر هذا الإعلان عن الإثارة الكبيرة التي ستشهدها أقوى البطولات النسائية على مستوى العالم.
