Qatar Airways Expands IATA Travel Pass Trial

Doha: Qatar Airways will begin trialing its IATA Travel Pass ‘Digital Passport’.
As more travelers return, the airline remains committed to reducing paperwork and providing a more contactless, secure and seamless travel experience for its passengers.
The trial will be rolled out in phases from July, beginning initially with cabin crew returning to Doha travelling from Kuwait, London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris and Sydney. Cabin crew will be able to upload their Qatar issued COVID-19 vaccination credentials along with their COVID-19 test results to the IATA Travel Pass Mobile App and verify they are eligible to travel. On arrival in Doha, crew will then be able to safely and securely share their vaccination certificate and proceed through immigration at the airport.

Qatar Airways is proud to lead the way by becoming the first airline to trial COVID-19 vaccine authentication through the IATA Travel Pass Digital Passport Mobile App. I want to especially thank Qatars Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Interior, Primary Health Care Corporation and Hamad Medical Corporation, whom without their ongoing support, this trial would not be possible.
“We know as more people begin making plans to return to their favorite holiday destinations, they will inevitably face the challenge of ensuring they have the right paperwork. Through trialing and supporting the development of new technologies, we aim to provide travelers with a tool that will support them to seamlessly travel across borders with greater confidence,” he added.
IATAs Director General Willie Walsh said: “Qatar Airways and the Qatari Government are showing leadership by becoming the first to trial the verification of passengers vaccine credentials through IATA Travel Pass. Certificates of COVID-19 vaccination or testing status will be key to restoring peoples freedom to travel. Trials by Qatar Airways and some 70 other airlines have demonstrated that IATA Travel Pass can efficiently manage test results. This important new trial focusing on vaccination status will build even more confidence in IATA Travel Pass as a complete solution for travelers, governments and airlines.”

الدوحة: تقوم الخطوط الجوية القطرية بتجربة توثيق لقاح /كوفيد-19/ من خلال وثيقة /إياتا/ الإلكترونية للمسافر “جواز السفر الرقمي” للهواتف المحمولة.
ومع استئناف المزيد من المسافرين لرحلاتهم، ستواصل الناقلة القطرية التزامها بالتقليل من الأعمال الورقية وتوفير تجربة سفر أقل تلامسا وأكثر أمنا وسلاسة لجميع مسافريها.
وستبدأ الناقلة الوطنية لدولة قطر هذه التجربة على عدة مراحل ابتداء من شهر يوليو، حيث سيجري تطبيق هذه التجربة على أفراد طاقم الضيافة العائدين إلى الدوحة من لندن ونيويورك ولوس أنجلوس والكويت وباريس وسيدني.
وسيتمكن أفراد طاقم الضيافة من تحميل الوثائق التي تثبت تلقيهم للقاح /كوفيد-19/ الصادرة عن دولة قطر، إلى جانب نتائج اختبار/كوفيد-19/ إلى تطبيق جواز السفر الرقمي للتحقق من أهليتهم للسفر.
وسيتمكن أفراد طاقم الضيافة لدى وصولهم إلى الدوحة من إبراز شهادة اللقاح للسلطات الصحية ومكتب الجوازات في المطار.
وقال سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية، إن على الرغم من التحديات الكبيرة التي سببها انتشار جائحة /كوفيد-19/ إلا أن هذا القطاع استمر بالمحافظة على مكانته في تبني التقنيات والابتكارات الحديثة لضمان تقديم تجربة السفر الأكثر أمنا وأمانا وراحة للمسافرين.
وأكد أن الخطوط الجوية القطرية تفتخر بكونها أول شركة طيران تقوم بتجربة توثيق لقاح /كوفيد-19/ من خلال وثيقة /إياتا/ الإلكترونية “جواز السفر الرقمي”.
وقال السيد ويلي والش، المدير العام لـ/إياتا/: “أن الخطوط الجوية القطرية والحكومة القطرية أكدت حرصهما على تحقيق الريادة بعد أن أصبحت الناقلة القطرية أول شركة طيران في العالم تجري عملية التحقق من وثائق السفر من خلال جواز السفر الرقمي”.
وأشار إلى أن شهادات لقاح كوفيد-19 أو شهادات الفحص ستكون من الأمور الأساسية التي ستعيد للناس حرية السفر، كما وأثبتت التجارب التي أجرتها الخطوط الجوية القطرية وحوالي 70 شركة طيران أخرى قدرة جواز السفر الرقمي على إدارة نتائج الفحوصات بكفاءة وسهولة. وستساهم هذه التجربة الجديدة والمهمة في بناء المزيد من الثقة في جواز السفر الرقمي بوصفه حلا متكاملا للمسافرين والحكومات وشركات الطيران.
