Paris: Owned in partnership by Khalifa Mohammed Al Attiyah and A & G Botti, the consistent two-year-old SUPER KHALI (Shalaa x Aldayah) scored a well-deserved success when taking the Prix De La Breche Aux Loups (Maiden) at ParisLongchamp.
Trained by Alessandro and Giuseppe Botti, the colt has been constantly placed through his six career starts, finishing second on three separate occasions. Having already put up a sturdy performance over course and distance, a return to the 1,300m at ParisLongchamp saw the colt finally get off the mark under a strong ride from Christophe Soumillion.
Breaking quickly from the stalls, Super Khali was then taken back and placed in behind the early leader Gaylor Senora (Zelzal). With only a steady pace being set, there was little change to the order through the first half of the race. Keen on the downhill run into the straight, Super Khali took closer order and travelled strongly into the straight. Going best 300m from the line, Super Khali attacked on the leaders outside and the two began to draw clear. With little else getting into the race from off the pace, Super Khali eventually saw off the attention of Gaylor Senora and went on to score by half a length. Impitoyable (Dark Angel) finished well and was a further length back in third.
Winning trainer Alessandro Botti said after the race: “He deserved that! The poor guy was always just getting beat. He picked a good day, because we have won both maidens today. He looks after himself a bit and I am not sure if he could cut it at group level, but he is a lovely little horse. We might put him away for a few weeks now and bring him back for the winter meetings Cagnes-Sur-Mer, le Montenica! The fibre-sand should suit him.”

وجاء هذا الفوز نتيجة طبيعية لثبات أداء ومستوى “سوبر كالي” في مشاركاته السابقة، حيث جاء في مراكز متقدمة في جميع مشاركاته الست وكان من بينها حصوله على المركز الثاني 3 مرات، كما سبق له تقديم أداء متميز للغاية على نفس المضمار والمسافة، وعاد لهما ليحقق فوزه الأول.
ومع انطلاقة الشوط، اندفع “سوبر كالي” سريعاً من بوابة الانطلاق، وبدا واضحاً أنه أفضل المشاركين في آخر 300م، فانقض على المقدمة وانفرد بها مبتعداً عن منافسيه محرزاً الفوز بفارق نصف طول، وجاء “غيلور سينورا” في المركز الثاني، وخلفه بفارق طول وفي المركز الثالث المهر “أمبيتوايابل”.
وفي تصريح للمدرب أليساندرو بوتي بعدالفوز، أكد أن “سوبر كالي” استحق ذلك وأنه صادفه عدم توفيق في اللحظات الأخيرة بصورة دائمة في مشاركاته السابقة، وقال: “لست متأكداً بعد إن كان بإمكاننا إشراكه في شوط من أشواط الفئات، ولكنه جواد رائع، وربما نريحه لبضعة أسابيع ثم نعود به للمشاركة مع الموسم الشتوي في جائزة مونتونيكا على مضمار كاني سور مير، فمن المفترض أن الأرضية الرملية الاصطناعية ملاءمة له”.
