Qatar Provides 50,000 Doses of Sinovac COVID-19 Vaccine to Philippines

Doha: Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has provided financial support to the Philippines to purchase 50,000 doses of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine.

This assistance provided by Qatar to brotherly and friendly countries comes within the framework of the efforts made to combat the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, which poses a common threat to the whole world.

HE QFFD Director-General Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari said that this support is a confirmation of Qatar’s effective role and its efforts to combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, which represents a common threat facing the whole world, and based on the common international responsibility, adding that this assistance also confirms the State’s position in supporting of friendly and brotherly countries to overcome this crisis.

For his part, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of the Philippines Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al Malki explained that this aid comes within the framework of humanitarian work, the extended Qatari giving to relief friends in the Philippines, and a commitment from the State of Qatar to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the health crisis and strengthen international efforts in the field of emergency aid.

QFFD has sent many urgent financial and medical aid to several countries around the world since the beginning of the pandemic.

الدوحة: قدم صندوق قطر للتنمية دعماً مالياً يشمل حزمة مساعدات لدعم جمهورية الفلبين، بهدف توفير 50 ألف جرعة من لقاح ساينوفاك المضاد لفيروس كورونا /كوفيد-19/.

ويأتي هذا الدعم كجزء من استجابة دولة قطر للحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا وامتداداً لالتزامها بالوقوف مع الدول الصديقة والشقيقة المتضررة من هذه الجائحة ولتأمين الإمدادات الطبية المناسبة لمواجهة تداعيات الفيروس وتقديم الدعم الصحي للشعوب في الدول المتأثرة.

وقال سعادة السيد خليفة بن جاسم الكواري، المدير العام لصندوق قطر للتنمية، إن هذا الدعم هو تأكيد على دور دولة قطر الفعال وجهودها المبذولة في محاربة تفشي وباء /كوفيد-19/ الذي يمثل تهديداً مشتركاً يواجه العالم أجمع، وانطلاقاً من باب المسؤولية الدولية المشتركة، كما تؤكد تلك المساعدات على موقف دولة قطر الداعم للدول الصديقة والشقيقة، ومساعدتها لتجاوز هذه الأزمة.

من جهته، أوضح سعادة الدكتور علي بن إبراهيم المالكي، سفير دولة قطر لدى جمهورية الفلبين، أن هذه المساعدات تأتي في إطار العمل الإنساني، والعطاء القطري الممتد لإغاثة الأصدقاء في الفلبين، والتزاما من دولة قطر بتخفيف المعاناة عن المتضررين من الازمة الصحية، وتعزيز الجهود الدولية في مجال المساعدات الطارئة.

جدير بالذكر أن صندوق قطر للتنمية أرسل العديد من المساعدات المالية والطبية العاجلة لعدد من الدول حول العالم منذ بداية الجائحة.
